The Sound Data for the Alpha builds have 36 music slots.
Pokemon Cry Oddity
For some reason, all Pokémon - up to slot 391 - have seperate SSEQs for thier cries. This would eventually be changed to 2 universal slots at sequence zero. Three cries after Chingling's cry in slot 388 are duplicates of Bulbasaur, and all cries are in the Gen 3 internal index number.
In the streamed audio section, there also exists Bulbasaur's and Blastoise's cry. This suggests that Game Freak considered using streamed audio for cries.
Music
All IDs after SEQ_DUMMY would be shifted up by one.
Sound ID | Internal Name | Proto | Final | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
1000 | SEQ_DUMMY | Vastly different from the final. The drums in the introduction is different, and most instruments are missing. | ||
1002 | SEQ_TEST_TITLE | A placeholder title theme until the final version was composed. Many of the instruments are missing from the final, again because most instruments are not in the SBNK. The MIDI is exactly the same as the version from RSE. | ||
1003 | SEQ_TOWN01
SEQ_TOWN01_D / SEQ_TOWN01_N (in the final) |
300px | There is a sour note near the beginning. Both the Day and Night versions are mixed together because of the day-night cycle fading tracks to differentiate the music. |
