Raiden Fighters Jet is the third and final entry in the Raiden Fighters series, a more manic spinoff to the main Raiden games. As a pilot in training, the player is tasked with fighting their way through a combat simulation in order to graduate and gain certification to pilot an experimental fighter jet; From there they must use said jet to stop armed terrorists from hijacking a supersonic nuclear bomber and cratering a city with it. Your average player isn't likely to make it that far, though - this is easily one of the most grueling games in the series. Much like the rest of the Fighters series, this didn't recieve a home port until the Raiden Fighters Aces compilation was released...in 2008.

Unused audio

TODO: Record the jingles Sound numbers and addresses are as provided by the debug ROM.

Unused stage BGM (Sound test no. 11, 0BH)

  • [Early game over jingle? - SN14, 0EH]
  • [Unused jingle - SN25, 19H]
  • [Cranassian SFX from Raiden II, is this unused? Miclus? - SN43, 2BH]

NOTE: The unused track's recording is taken from the Raiden Fighters Aces OST - the audio is in the ROM and is designated Sound No. 11 (address 0BH) in the debug ROM's sound test, but as MAME's current YMF271-F emulation is severely inaccurate the track does not sound right as of this article's writing.

Region differences

For some reason, non-Japanese ROMs require the player to beat the game twice to get any sort of ending.
