Hi, I'm currently putting off working on the Gitaroo Man page while I do various janitorial busy work across the wiki. You can also find me on the TCRF Discord, Jul, and Twitter, or you can contact me via email. (If you need to get my attention, Discord is your best bet.)
Pages I've worked on
Please ask me if you have any questions about these games or pages.
Extensive work:
- Gitaroo Man and its subpages
- DS Kageyama Method: Tadashii Kanji Kakitori-kun - Kondo wa Kanken Taisaku Dayo!
Some work:
- Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (ripped a bunch of sprites including animated ones)
No page work yet, but I have experience in datamining these:
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora's Mask 3D (ripping actor (not stage) models and animations)
Common things I always forget
- Images, tables advanced usage
- Mediawiki magic words for page links and other things
- {{tlink}} for linking to templates
- {{unsigned}} for signing unsigned talk page comments
- {{hex}} for hex digits
- High use pages: most linked to, most transcluded, etc.
- Gallery of new files: just for fun
- {{source}} for external sources
- {{tcrf source}} for TCRF original research
Reminders:
- {{compare}} has a couple vertical modes (mode=vertical1/vertical2)
- {{titlescreen}} and {{debugscreen}} include the effects of {{screenshot}}.
- Use the nocat tag for game release dates after the first year.
- Use
[[Media:Placeholder.png|link text]]
to link directly to an image or file (Example). This registers properly under File Usage and works through redirects. - {{msgbox}} can be used to put something important at the top of a talk page, but consider using the Notes page instead.
- Search double redirects for "File:" if you're moving lots of images or other files, because double-redirected files will fail to embed.
More obscure:
- {{#babel}} to show your language skills on your userpage (and choosing the right skill level)
- {{YTVideoGone}} for pages with dead youtube videos
- {{data}} for Game data pages describing file formats (yes, these exist!)
- {{screencap}} are images captured from a real console's video output signal. These suck, emulator/hardware screenshots are vastly preferred.
- {{main}} says Main article: (other game), e.g. Pokémon Yellow has the same leftovers as Red/Blue
- {{TOC limit}} changes the table of contents
