Aside from the redesigned game title and the modified copyright, the US version removes the redundant "Data East" from the title screen.

If you do this, you won't be so cool 'n crude! Cool 'n Crude people don't use drugs!

The screen shown before the Data East logo and the attract mode is completely different. The Japanese version shows the usual copyright notice screen to not export the game outside Japan. The US version shows the standard "Winners Don't Use Drugs" screen common of the era. The World version boots directly to the Data East logo.

Gameplay

  • Like Bad Dudes, pressing 2P Start will put both Player 1 and Player 2 in the game in the Japanese version. In the other versions, pressing 2P Start will only bring Player 2 into the game.
  • In Crude Buster the player takes control of the character instantly, while in Two Crude the character automatically moves until he picks up the first broken car (1P) or the first beam (2P).
  • Stages 2 and 4 are swapped in Two Crude, although their difficulty was swapped accordingly, with Stage 4 being made easier and Stage 2 harder.

The beer machine that contains "Budtwiser" beer (a blatant Budweiser rip-off) was changed into a soda machine containing cola. Even the Budweiser-like seal was changed to an arm lifting weights with "POW" written next to it.
