Debug & Unused Maps Lots of goodies here! |
Unused Items
Reserve Bike Texture
Four reserved bike textures can be put into the player's inventory with hacks. However, they do not appear in the list of textures when applying a texture to your bike.
Crow's Casuals, Academy Swimsuit, Stage Outfit, and Class VII Uniform
Even though Crow isn't technically a party member in this game, he has an unused set of cloths. Equipping them on him does not change his appearance. But we can add accessories to change his in-game appearances.
Towa's Casual Clothes 2
At one point in development, it looked like Towa would get an alternate costume to wear. However, even when putting these clothes in your inventory and equipping them on her they do nothing.
Emma's Glasses
Emma's Glasses can be put into the player's inventory with hacks and are fully functional.
Misty's Glasses
Misty's Glasses can be put into the player's inventory with hacks and is fully functional.
Angel Set
A test version of a downloadable content item can be put into the player's inventory with hacks and is fully functional.
Devil Set
This is the same as Angel Set however, this version has a tail attached to it.
Unused Orbal Staff (Female Version)
An unused female version of an Orbal Staff can be put into the player's inventory with hacks and is fully functional.
Unused Orbal Staff (Male Version)
An unused male version of a Orbal Staff can be put into the player's inventory with hacks and is fully functional.
Unused Tonfa (Pentagon +1)
An unused version of a Tonfa can be put into the player's inventory with hacks and is fully functional.
Unused Demon Cleaver (Bakuya +1)
An unused version of a Demon Cleaver can be put into the player's inventory with hacks and is fully functional.
Unused Party Members
Even though Crow, Vita, and Altina have a Phantasmal Mirror accessory that allows you to play as them in battle, they can all be added to your party member slots allowing you to walk around as them on the field. They also have proper status screens. They level up, have unique orbment layouts, can equip armor to them, and you can even equip accessories on them. The other party members besides the first three do not function properly and cannot enter battle, however they do have their own stat locations in a save file. They have no voices but they can be selected on the field and have a proper equipment screen. All of their weapon equip icons are unique and cannot be seen anywhere else. It is not possible to obtain their weapons. Perhaps at one point in development there was going to be more Phantasmal Mirrors.
Altina
Altina has a voice when switching to her on the field. Pressing the attack button will bring out Claimh Solais. However, it has no attack animation nor does Altina. She also has no animation for climbing ladders.
Below is Altina's normally unseen and unobtainable weapon, "Lilith Edge" and her orbment layout. The equipment on her here is equipped by default when you would normally have the Phantasmal Mirror's set on a party member.
Crow
Crow has no voice when switching to him on the field. He cannot attack on the field, nor does he have any animation for climbing ladders. You can see Crow's default weapons here along with his unobtainable weapon, "Ragnarok" and his orbment layout.
Vita
Vita has no voice when switching to her on the field. She can attack on the field although, she cannot hit anything. She can attack and hit objects only in the debug maps. For some reason she has proper climbing animation for when she climbs ladders. Below you will see her default setup along with her unobtainable weapon, "Kerykeion" and her orbment layout.
Xeno
Xeno has a unique orbal gun icon for his weapon.
Leo
Leo also has another unique orbal gun icon for his weapon.
Rufus
Rufus has a Rapier icon for his weapon slot.
McBurn
McBurn's weapon icon is what appears to be a unique master quartz.
Bleublanc
Bleublanc's weapon icon is what appears to be a type of staff.
Patrick
Patrick's weapon icon is another type of Rapier.
Viscount Arseid
Viscount Arseid's weapon icon is the same as Laura's. You cannot equip Laura's sword on him, however.
Butler Klaus
Butler Klaus's weapon icon is the same Rapier as Patrick's.
Olivert
Olivert's weapon is another type of orbal gun.
Duvalie
Duvalie's weapon is a sword which looks rather less detailed and more pixelated, it has not been confirmed whether anything can fit into that specific weapon slot, it appears to be another placeholder.
Unused NPCs
A few NPCs go unused in this game.
Marquis Hyarms
The father of Patrick T. Hyarms can be found in a debug room with him in a T-stance and has a fully animated face emotion.
Patrick Hyarms (School Festival Outfit)
Patrick in his school festival outfit can be found in debug room a0194. This is only used in the first game.
Mishy
A leftover Mishy mascot from the first game can be seen here:
Crow
An unused, un-animated version of Crow can be seen here:
Another version of Crow happens to be replaced with Rean's model data:
Masked C
Another leftover from the first game.
Test Girl
The test girl from the first game can be forced to load via hacks. She does not appear in any debug map. She also has proper battle animations.
Unused Voice Files
McBurn
This line of McBurn's appears before his first voiced line in the game when you first see him alongside Duvalie in Bareahard.
(Yawn) Yeah... I guess I can help.
Lloyd
Unknown lines spoken by Lloyd. There appears to be a few unused combination lines of some sort when linked with Rixia as it's in his battle dialog voice files, however this appears before overdrive and after his link attack voice files.
"Ready Rixia?"
"Gladly! Lets do this!" (responding to Rixia)
"Twin Dragon Strike!"
Rixia
Unknown lines spoken by Rixia. There appears to be a few unused combination lines of some sort when linked with Lloyd as it's in her battle dialog voice files, however this appears before overdrive and after her link attack voice files.
"Give me your support Lloyd!"
"Of course!" (responding to Lloyd)
"Twin Dragon Strike!"
Rufus
Rufus's unused death cry. It is possible to defeat him in battle, but only with hacks.
Rean
An unused short test voice clip spoken by Rean's Japanese seiyuu which also appears in the US version of the game's files. Labeled internally as "test".
Unused Graphics
You will find mostly leftover graphics from the first game here.

The first image also contains fifteen blank icon slots.
An unused Crow event icon can be seen here. The rest of the icons are all used. He can be seen in-between Millium and Sara.
A placeholder area location which displays Thors Military Academy in Japanese and English:
A placeholder name which displays Rean Schwarzer's name in Japanese.
An unused background graphic of Heimdallr which appears to be only loaded in a2005 (Divine Knight Test Map) but does not appear to be visible.
An unused Crossbell icon. It appears to be loaded in debug map a0008 but it does not appear to be visible. This is also unused in the first game as well.
A debug time of day graphic that is loaded in debug map a2000.
The unused background images loaded in a0008 (Trails of Something Map) that are from Ys Origin:
A temporary flashback picture:
A lot of unknown graphics, possibly debug related can be found in this shot. You can also see the unused test enemy "Bozuonga" (bottom most enemy icons) in this picture along with another unknown test enemy (above the two "Bozuonga" enemies).
An icon of Airgetlam found around the party member icon section in game files. Looks like he wanted to be a party member.
