Debug Code
There's a secret cheat mode activated by pausing the game, pressing B, R, A, Select, Select, Y, A, B, Y, A, B, and un-pausing.
A few special features will be available, some of them used for various kinds of stage selecting/skipping. To use them, pause the game again, input one of the following button codes, and then un-pause.
- During "VR" levels, press A to instantly complete the level. If you use this code in side-scrolling levels, the game will reset.
- In First Person levels, press Select, A, Y, Up, Select, A to walk through walls.
- Press B, R, R ,A, Select, Select, Y, A, B, Y, A, B, then unpause and repause and press R, A, Select, Y for infinite lives.
- Pressing L or R repeatedly while paused will advance the game frame by frame.
- Hold Select for a few seconds and the game will automatically go to the hi-score screen.
- During side-scrolling levels, press A, L, L to enter "NIGEL WAYNE MODE" which is some kind of level select allowing you to start from any desired level or sublevel.
- Also during side-scrolling levels, press A, B, B, A to instantly activate a "VR" warp that takes you to the same Cyber Run level, which when completed, takes you to the 2nd level. Sometimes the warp can take a few seconds to appear, and can also appear outside of your reach. It's also a little buggy because you can trigger multiple warps, some bring you to other spots in the level, and other times the game hangs.
Note, that L and R in all codes above may either be the Shoulder or the D-Pad buttons.
Swear Filter
Oddly enough, but only when the cheat mode were enabled, upon entering a name on the high score table, the game will check an internal list to detect swear words. When you're about to enter the last letter, the game will exclude it from the input list so you can't select it.
The game's credits list one "CRAIG" as a playtester, and credit "REAL" for composing some of the game's music. "SEGA" and "SONIC" also forbidden. The final three entries mean shit, cock, and pussy in Swedish, respectively.
