The Jackbox Party Pack 10 is the tenth installment of the party game series, this time containing Tee K.O. 2, Timejinx, FixyText, Dodo Re Mi, and Hypnotorious.

This pack also celebrates 10 years of Party Packs, with the menu background itself being a throwback to Party Pack 1 and Party Pack 2, as well as featuring other assets and references from other Party Packs.

Even though this is the 10th pack, it's the first underperforming pack with mixed reviews.

Title Screen & Main Menu

Picker was the name for the main menu. It was formerly named PartyPack in previous packs.

Party Pack 9 leftovers

Leftover Icon

In /icons/win of the main directory, exists 2 icons: app.ico for Pack 10, and icon.ico for Pack 9.

Leftover Game Preview Videos

  • In the videos for the Picker (main menu), the Pack 9's preview videos are included, minus Junktopia. They are only in the en folder, suggesting that this game was built presumably after Pack 9 released.
  • Another notable thing is that Dodo Re Mi has 2 videos, one being nopusopus.usm and DodoReMi.usm, with the former being the preview video of Earwax from Pack 2.

Disabled Buttons

JPP10-DisabledGameSelection.png

In content.json, there is a value where it would disable the buttons, which was probably used as a placeholder. Enabling it shows a bunch of question marks on the text. In addition to the question marks, if you would disable it on one of the games, it would show a picture of a M. Bubbles Yetee plushie as a placeholder instead of the main characters of the respective games. The game description would also show question marks with an exclamation mark at the end for some reason.

Hidden Developer Console

Hmmm...
To do:
Maybe add an image for this?

In jbg.config.jet, a hidden developer console can be enabled by adding dev-console and setting it to true. Additionally, adding debug and logging and setting them to true can make certain things be logged and printed in the console. The main menu has no commands (besides the help command, but that only prints "List of available calls:"), though.

Legal Text Variations

Like the previous Party Packs, there is a setting on the title screen where the legal text will change depending on what you set below:

jackbox: Adds the Jackbox copyright text.
jackboxFmod: Adds the Jackbox copyright text with the FMOD Sound System text on the left.
jackboxFmodCriware: Adds the Jackbox copyright text with the FMOD sound system text on the left, and the CRIWARE text in the middle. This one is used in the Windows version.

Games

Tee K.O. 2

The internal name for Tee K.O. 2 was AwShirt2, just like Tee K.O., where its internal name was AwShirt.

Timejinx

The internal name for Timejinx was TimeTrivia, which is self explanatory on its own.

FixyText

The internal name for FixyText was RiskyText, which probably means that you are fixing someone's risky texts, as seen in the game.

Dodo Re Mi

Unused Songs

  • 0-33 (or known as 0' 33" ingame) is a test "song" with no audio and a length of exactly 33 seconds. Although unused, the language JSON files are still updated overtime. Can be played with the instruments below:

TJPP10-NopusOpus-0-33-instruments.png
Interestingly, by default, you need to get eaten 100 times in order to unlock this song.

  • roomerrang (or known as, obviously Roomerang ingame), seem to be a misspelled version of the used song ID with an extra r. This song also doesn't have a playback, instead it will error out with "Processing performance failed. Sorry.". It can be played with these instruments:

The notes in this song seem to play out like the used one, though.

Hidden Developer Console

Hmmm...
To do:
Find out what most commands actually do.

Just like the main menu, you can enable it in the game's jbg.config.jet. Unlike it, there are a few commands here:

How the help command looks like ingame.
  • help: Shows a list of commands.
  • tweenTest: Adds the sine wave which appears when the player plays as a infinite-line instrument when playback occurs, used for testing the animation of that sine animation(?).
  • poolSizes: Calculates the notes in each track?
  • inputTest: Quickly plays the Birdber Shop song with a Signature instrument and plays an unchanged input set, then prints out the results.
Results of the inputTest command.

Internal Song Name

Elementary, my dear Cactus.
This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Is there some connection between the internal game's name and the song?

In the folder for the songs, Nopus Opus was marked as original-song-1. Of course, this was the internal game name for Dodo Re Mi itself, which was NopusOpus.

Hypnotorious

The internal name for Hypnotorious was Strangers.
