Some of the textures in Morrowind, such as jewelry are taken from photographs.

The hair textures for Dremoras both have hidden faces in an unmapped part of the texture. Also of note, the Red Dremora Hair isn't used at all in the final but does appear in the splash screens of the Xbox version (A number of splash screen images didn't make it into the PC version by accident), and in pre-release images of the Dremora.

Morrowind's UI went several revisions through the course of the game's development, including the icons used for skills, attributes, spells, and other elements of the UI. While most of these icons haven't been archived yet (fingers crossed), Bethesda published a collection of the early skill icons on the Morrowind website before release.

Red Templar Armor

  • Describe the final texture that replaced the cuirass in more detail, and what the moth texture was replaced with.

The cut Red Templar's armor, revised into the final game's Imperial Templar armor, has older texture work done for it, including a lot more red in the skirt and a prominent symbol of a Moth as the centerpiece of the cuirass. The moth was replaced by a different texture in the final game. These textures were posted to Hugh Riley's online portfolio around the time of Morrowind's release.

Unused Models

A number of unused models can be found on the Construction Set disc (and the Game of the Year Edition of Morrowind as it comes bundled with the Construction Set disc content). These objects do not have any data in the construction set to place them in the game's files normally and have to be added in manually.

Devourer

A strange item that has not appeared in an Elder Scrolls game before or since. Its actual origin is unknown. According to players that have asked them, even Bethesda themselves don't know what it was supposed to be. Some think it to be a shield, while others think it to be a book.

It's probably an in-universe equivalent of the Necronomicon, from HP Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. Abdul Alhazred, author of the Necronomicon in Lovecraft's stories, doesn't have a proper Arabic name, but one fan explanation dating back to the late 1990s[1] is that it's actually a garbled version of "Abd-al-Azrad", meaning "servant of the Devourer".

And the book's front cover texture has an abstract gray face set within brown leather, which draws on the Evil Dead movies' depiction of the Necronomicon as a book bound in human skin.

Dwarven Long Spear

An alternative Dwarven Spear that's longer than the regular iteration.

Daedric Long Spear

Same as the Dwarven Long Spear, except Daedric.

Unused Armor Body Parts

Upload the screenshots from the Construction set with the changes applied to the armors below. Also worth checking to see if any unused armor body parts are in Morrowind.BSA as there are a lot of models in there that aren't linked in the Construction Set as stated above

Various armors in Morrowind actually have extra joint body parts in the construction set. including parts for knee and elbow body part slots. More commonly the elbow body slots are left empty on most armors but a few actually have data for them under the forearm body part. These are the bonemold (all variants which should use the same forearm model variant.), the Imperial Templar Pauldrons, and the Orcish Pauldrons.
