This is a work in progress article, the goal for this subpage is to show off major changes to models/textures between patches, especially if it relates to unused content.
- Backpack icon changes are the first to be added.
- Once all the backpack icon changes are added, then begins the process of getting the actual models/materials of certain items pre-update and get proper renders of them.

Most of the things here have been moved over from TF2CutContent's TF2RevDiffs sandbox and need to be expanded/detailed.
- A whole bunch of changed/altered (one might even say "downgraded") animations, lighting and other features. This Crowbcat video has some examples. Do note of course that video is quite old at this point (it was making comparisons with build 4016097) and it is not exactly representative of the game's current state.
- Try to pinpoint when those changes happened.
- Sort all of the items by class.
- Finish comparisons of changed backpack graphics.
- Discuss how the item/weapon/thing in question had changed in a "Notes" section, like early entries in the "Backpack Icons Update" section.
- Possibly could use subpages in future.

Mercenary
The Mercenary badge from the 117th update originally was called the "Weekend Warrior". Due to that name being seen as derogatory towards players who opted to only play very rarely, it was later changed to "Mercenary".
