Unused Rooms

Well, I'm fairly certain I haven't seen these rooms show up in the game before at any point. I've only played through the game halfway to completion, so I could be wrong. These rooms can be accessed via the Locate option in the debug menu.

Touch Detective Room56.png

Room 56: The Pastry Shop during the dream sequence. It's impossible to get into the pastry shop during Mackenzie's dream since the door remains locked. Perhaps the player was at one point able to go in there. Some Japanese dialogue also pops up on screen upon access. The text popup can be disabled by setting flag no. 69 to "ON", but it always gets cleared when accessing the room.

Room 57: The Fortune Teller Shop during the dream sequence. Like the above room, it's not possible to visit the fortune teller during the dream sequence. The text popup can be disabled by setting flag no. 69 to "ON", but it always gets cleared when accessing the room.

Touch Detective Room66.png

Room 66: An unused cutscene with Chloe and Penelope as silhuettes in the Planetarium. The room's unlit, and not much can be done after the cutscene finishes. Collision with walls will be disabled if either room 56 or 57 has been accessed via the debug menu.

Room 67: The Space Theather, featuring the silhuettes of Chloe and Penelope from room 66. The room's unlit, and none of the doors work. Like room 66, collision with walls will be disabled if either room 56 or 57 has been accessed via the debug menu.

The first two rooms I'm absolutely certain are unused, while the other two I'm not so sure of. Given the latter two rooms lack any artwork for the top screen, I assume they are unused. I also since found out that all rooms mentioned remain inaccessible in the japanese version, so I guess these rooms may have been cut early on.

Again, verification from someone who's familiar enough with the game and have visited every single place in the game would be much appreciated before I add these entries to the main article. --ConkerGuru (talk) 09:05, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

Unused Monologue??

Not sure if this is unused, but I found that by using Action Replay code 2200B774 00000000 (both US and EUR) or 22009FDC 00000000(JP) to force Mackenzie's portrait to show up in the office before selecting a episode the monologue text "Use the phone..." will be displayed on the top screen when attempting go to the bonus episode before having completed the first case.

Seeing as the character portrait is always hidden before picking any episode, I can only assume that this monologue goes unseen. I admit this is rather minor, but the fact that this monologue doesn't even have a chance to show up might at least be noteworthy. Also, when entering the room with the code active the monologue "Use phone to select episode." will be shown on the top screen. --ConkerGuru (talk) 00:01, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

Debug Save?

I'm not completely sure if this is an intentional developer feature, but setting RAM address 02007930 to 0x01 starts the game with all episodes unlocked, all cases solved, and a completed touch list. The game first asks the player to load data for a episode. However, choosing "yes" causes the game to freeze upon attempting to load the data. Possibly the game is trying to load a screen that no longer exists?

Again, I'm not entirely confident about this recent discovery, but the fact that the game sets the flags needed for a completed save makes me think this was probably used during development. The Action Replay codes to enable this possible debug save are 22007930 00000001(US and EUR) and 220085C0 00000001(Japan). --ConkerGuru (talk) 14:01, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
