Ambulance Siren SFX Origin

The section for the unused ambulance siren mentions that it "sounds like it was ripped from Grand Theft Auto III". What is this information based on? If it's just a case of "this sound also appears in GTA 3" then that doesn't really mean anything, as it's just a stock sound effect taken from Sound Ideas Series 6000 - probably the most famous and widely used sound effects library in existence. However, if there's evidence suggesting the audio file is exactly the same as the one in GTA 3, then that would be a valid observation. I personally find that very unlikely, but I don't want to just immediately remove that part of the page without asking first. - Colou (talk) 19:52, 8 August 2022 (UTC)

I have downloaded the GTA 3 soundfont to check this info, and you're right. The sound file in question differentiates from SHaR, so I edited it slightly (i.e. copied over) to match SHaR's audio file, and the match is nearly identical. I would say, the devs of both games just downloaded this sound without much care. SHaR's siren uses the entire stock file, while GTA 3 - only a single bleep. Here are the spectograms to prove my point. The information in the article has been edited accordingly. ~CMB (talk) 09:33, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
