"Wrong Key" Text

Actually, the one about the key being the wrong key is used. In Gerudo Fortress, if you try to use a key you get after defeating a guard, and try to use it at a different jail cell, the text appears. I don't know if it is in the Nintendo 64 version though, I was playing OoT on the 3DS when I discovered this.

You can actually do that? I honestly had no idea... -- Sheeza 10:58, 7 October 2012 (EDT)
It really seems counterintuitive, though – they're all Small Keys, at least on the N64 version, so why would they put in an element like that? And why wouldn't you just release the workers as soon as you get each key, anyway? -WarioBarker 21:16, 7 October 2012 (EDT)
I tried that on the debug Master Quest ROM and it also showed the text. If you take a key to another carpenter's cell, the door won't let you open it. If you talk to Navi, she'll tell you the key is wrong. Just there to made you even angrier. Thus I'm pretty sure it appears in the original retail game as well. WhoIAm 20:44, 12 October 2012 (EDT)

I was just curious on what would happen if I were to do that is all.

  • Hey, nothing wrong with doing things out of order, or that nobody else would really think of doing – exploring, especially like that, is how stuff like this is found. :) (Also, remember to sign your messages with ~~~~.) -WarioBarker 06:25, 10 October 2012 (EDT)

True, very true :) I'm sorry but how do you do that? I've been here for months, but I made the account when I posted it so I'm not sure how to do that...

  • Making the tildes? I'm not sure about other keyboards, but mine has it next to the "1" key, below Esc – hold Shift and press the ` key; alternately, copy the tildes I posted and append it to your message. -WarioBarker 01:56, 11 October 2012 (EDT)

Keaton Mask with Zelda

Given this recent fact from didyouknowgaming.com, but according to some people I talked to who know the game better than me, you can't talk to Zelda with the Kaeton Mask, so that text goes unused. My questions: can you talk to her with it? Can you only do it on the German version, somehow? Is the text there in the English version? {EspyoT} 17:27, 10 October 2012 (EDT)

  • Well, you can return to see Zelda until her escape from the castle. She can even tell you when you have to go to Zora's river, after you are done with the Gorons. But most people figure that out by themselves, and just go there before talking to Zelda again. Flodarien 08:26, 11 October 2012 (EDT)

In the English version it says this:

What a cute little mouse!
What?
Oh, it's not a mouse?

HTH, -- Sheeza 14:00, 11 October 2012 (EDT)

Ah, I see. Well, should we add it as a regional difference, maybe? It's noteworthy because it's interesting. {EspyoT} 08:55, 12 October 2012 (EDT)

Persistent customer

"I sealed the entrance because I don't have much merchandise to sell. But you're quite a persistent customer, aren't you." Doesn't he say something like that if you force the entrance open at some point? I feel like I've seen that dialogue before. Like you know how before you save Darunia's son (the one that's named after you) the shop is closed? but isn't there some way to unseal it early? it's either that or how you know you can burn the bomb flowers to open the shop, but you don't have the Goron's Bracelet yet? I would have to start a new game to check for sure lol but i swear something like this is in the game *__* Zesty Cactus 01:59, 5 January 2013 (EST)

I've talked to him in a number of situations and he's never said this exact line. There is a very similar one, but it's not this one. -- Sheeza 06:39, 9 January 2013 (EST)

Mountain Message

Link...Can't hold...
anymore...I can't hold
it any longer...
Get out of here!!

To me, this seems to be Darunia addressing Link while holding back Volvagia. Could Link have entered Volvagia's chamber just as it did whatever it did to Darunia? Perhaps I could add this interpretation to the page. - Gamma 20:54, 4 February 2013 (EST)

Mask Responces

  • I HATE foxes, sonny!
  • Now if that isn’t the most irritating face I’ve seen in all my days, I don’t know what is!
  • Hey, that’s a fine face you got there, sonny!
  • Have you got any complaints? Speak up, then!
  • Hah! That mask won’t do you any good! You’re just afraid of me, the great Mido… aren’t you?!
  • Waaaaah! What? Hey, I’m not scared of you! Just don’t come any closer, understand?!
  • Hey, that’s a cool mask. I want it! JUST KIDDING! Hah! I don’t want that stupid mask!
  • Wah hah ha hah! That really suits you!
  • I wonder what Mido would say if he saw that? I really would like to see his reaction!

Navi

  • It looks like there is something up there on top of the platform!
I think that's used when Ruto discovers the Zora's Sapphire. You can target it (before you throw Ruto up there) and Navi will give this response.
  • I can hear a voice from somewhere… It’s saying: “Collect five silver Rupees…”
  • There is a door over here… Is there any way to get across?
  • That red ice… it’s so weird!
  • This statue… haven’t we seen it somewhere before?
  • Gohma Egg When this egg hatches, a Gohma Larva will be born.
Used in MQ at least for those Gohma Eggs lying on the ground. It *should* be used in OoT as well but I can't vouch for it, so it needs a double check.
  • Big Poe This Poe won’t disappear even if you stare at it. It moves fast despite its size!
Is it used for those Big Poes you haven't caught yet? Needs checking.

RANCH

  • I am Ingo--Mr. Ingo to you. I take care of these horses. You’re in my way, so scram, kid!
  • It’s been a while… Do you want to race? (Yes / No)
  • If you change your mind, come back anytime!
  • If I give ya more free of charge, Ingo will get mad at me. So I’d better sell it to you for the normal price.
  • Wanna buy milk for 30 Rupees?
  • Here you go! Take this super fresh Lon Lon Milk!
  • Are you collecting Spiritual Stones? You have one more to find? You mean the Spiritual Stone of Fire, don’t you? The Great Deku Tree once told me that Mr. Darunia of the Gorons has it…
Pretty sure this is a Saria response when you got the Kokiri's Emerald and Zora's Sapphire, but not the Goron's Ruby.

Shops

  • So sorry! You can’t buy that right now!
  • If you want potions, you’d better bring an empty bottle. Understand, young man?
  • I’m sorry, but this is just a model. Because of the crisis in Goron City, we haven’t received any shipments lately and we’re out.
It's not from the Goron Shop and it's not from the Bazaar either (you can buy bombs there anytime). Any ideas?
  • If you plan on scaling Death Mountain, buy a Hylian Shield.

You can defend yourself against falling rocks with that shield. But it might be a little bit big for a kid….

LAKE HYLIA / ZORA'S DOMAIN

  • Set a bean to (C) and use it on the dirt right here.
  • That song you played for me still stays in my heart. Let’s hear it again!

Gerudo VALLEY AND DESERT)

  • Hey, newcomer! Wait a second and I’ll open the gate for you.
  • This is the Gerudo’s Training Ground. Nobody is allowed to enter without a membership card.
  • This is the Gerudo’s Training Ground. Unqualified persons are not allowed.
  • This is the Gerudo’s Training Ground. You’re qualified… C’mon in and hone your skills as much as you want.
  • This is the Gerudo’s Training Ground. Even though you’re qualified, don’t hog all the treasure here for yourself!

Unknown

  • You can’t! You need a bow!
  • C’mon, man! You’re too old for this game!
  • It won’t open!
  • Look at this!
  • Hyrule Castle Town
    Unfamiliar with this...
  • The Temple of Time
    Nor this...
  • Spirit Temple
Unsure... isn't there a sign that says that? Can't find one right now though.
  • This is a Gossip Stone!
  • Are you taking good care of my Ocarina?
  • I don’t want that!
  • Link!?
  • I’m saved! Thank you! Here, take this!
  • Thank you very much for saving us!
  • Tight fit…
This is a line that Medigoron can say, but I don't know when... either case, it's used.
  • I was scared… A little! Just a little!!
  • Link! Link!
  • I… believe that you are going to save this world…
  • You… who are you?
  • Hey, what do you want? I don’t have time to talk to you!
  • Link! Help me!
--Hiccup (talk) 05:41, 7 December 2013 (EST)
Did you copy that list verbatim from the Word document linked a while ago?
Most of these are used. I'll just remove the lines that are already in the article anyway, as we don't need to go through that again. -- Sheeza (talk) 08:52, 7 December 2013 (EST)
Also, I looked through those that I could comment on. I have no idea whatsoever about the others. -- Sheeza (talk) 14:57, 9 December 2013 (EST)

Nabooru and the Gerudo archery minigame

The article as currently written suggests that the horseback archery minigame, at some point during development, was a competition against a Gerudo opponent. That may be, but the article also suggests that this Gerudo was Nabooru herself, and the evidence is removed dialogue from the Chamber of Sages where she references a "competition." I think this is really unlikely. Although "competition" is the official English translation, the direct translation is given as "rematch." I think it's obvious that the rematch Nabooru would be referring to is the fight you have with her in the Spirit Temple when she is a possessed Iron Knuckle. Furthermore, assuming that the horseback archery minigame was still optional at this point in development, it doesn't make much sense for Nabooru to refer to a rematch in a minigame that the player may not have played yet. --HumanAdventure (talk) 12:39, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
