Possible Explanation For Back Sprites
As I mentioned a year ago in the edit summary:
I highly suspect the sprites were made without a pre-established cutscene in mind: if you look at the way the sprites are laid out, and how they move, it highly suggests the intro was made where the programmers moved the Pengos and Sno-bees much like a Machinima, and all angles were drawn to accomodate the path they MIGHT take. If someone can alter the path the Pengos take to validate my hunch, this would have implications...
I think that the cutscene is actually a bespoke demo of some kind and the Pengos and Sno-bees were directed using a created path. When viewing the spritesheet, it becomes apparent that these aren't actually sprites that were designed for a cutscene, these were positions made for moving a character in four different directions (much like the gameplay itself). Additionally, some of these sprites are reused from the in-game graphics.
If there's a way to manipulate the path or even somehow control the Pengos (assuming any remnant of that sort is still in that mode), that could explain this. I have a hard time thinking about why they could be in the ROM if it was pre-animated without them turning in mind. Chimes (talk) 11:22, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
