Wii U Palettes

Hi all. After reading here about the modified color palettes used in Mario Bros. on Wii U, I got curious about using this version of the ROM for multiplayer link and started extracting the ROMs from the Wii U versions. While link functionality still works in this case, I have not been able to find the alternative sprites being used in any of these titles after starting multiplayer sessions. I have traced the origins of this claim back to The Spriters Resource sheet here. I am interested in sourcing this claim for reproduction. Perhaps the Wii U version is doing some realtime patching or I've missed a crucial step elsewhere. --MarioMan (talk) 05:11, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
