Bowser in Mario and Luigi-only battles
I'm 99% sure that this is impossible without drastic hacking. The closest I've gotten is having Bowser trample over Nooz and Fawflants and getting 10 coins from them. It's impossible to get Bowser inside his own body, and the rest of the enemies are either fought by Mario and Luigi at a certain point or are too small and are trampled over by Bowser. As of now, I'm rewording that todo in Unused Enemy Attacks. If anyone has anything that might be of use, feel free to say something. --AquaBat 17:30, 4 March 2013 (EST)
- It's possible that Bowser is programmed to trample any Bros-only enemy, and I doubt Bowser is programmed for sidescrolling segments. Your best bet would be to find a way to modify which enemies are loaded into the battle, or instead find a way to trigger a Bowser battle when the Bros. make contact with an enemy. --Peardian 18:08, 4 March 2013 (EST)
- Do you think you could help me with that? Knowing little about hacking, if I tried to modify anything using an emulator, I'd probably just permanently damage the game. I mostly rely on Action Replay codes or simple instructions. --AquaBat 19:10, 4 March 2013 (EST)
Unused Music
When I downloaded a 2SF rip from this game, it included an Inside Bowser version of the Toad Town music. Now, I am 100% sure this is unused, because it's impossible to get Bowser into Toad Town without cheat codes. Here's the 2SF for anyone interested: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5237238/11b%20Short%20Break%20in%20Mushroom%20Town%20%28Inside%20Bowser%29.mini2sf Geno2925 13:39, 1 June 2013 (EDT)
- Except that it's not impossible :> Skawo 14:18, 1 June 2013 (EDT)
- Really? Strange that I don't remember it though...Geno2925 14:51, 1 June 2013 (EDT)
- Bowser can reach the entrance to Toad Town from Blubble Lake.
- Really? Strange that I don't remember it though...Geno2925 14:51, 1 June 2013 (EDT)
- There'll be a cry of "IT'S BUH-BOWSER!!" and all of the Toads in the area will scatter.
- Bowser can also use a pipe that leads into the Toad Town Caves, and can head left from the area and take a raft to the path to Peach's Castle.
- In all four areas, the Toad Town music is heard, and pressing A/B will allow you to switch to Mario and Luigi and hear the aforementioned music. --AquaBat 22:56, 1 June 2013 (EDT)
Rumble Pak
Have we actually tried this on the Japanese version? Nintendo's old list is no use, it stops at June 2008. http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/shindou/ Theclaw (talk) 08:16, 13 September 2014 (EDT)
Unused Scratch-card Message Text
I was looking through some of the files in the US version of Bowser's Inside Story a while back, and I remember I found a possibly unused line among some other text related to the shop scratch-card game, reading "No cheating! You can only scratch one card!" or something similar. I need to search for the line again to be sure of the exact wording, because my computer died a few months ago and I lost my record of where the text was. However, I am positive that the line of text is in the ROM, I'm just not 100% sure it's unused or not. --CaptainSwag101 16:33, 9 March 2015 (PST)

Anti-piracy Measures
I read that this game has many different anti-piracy measures such as locking up when engaging in battle and removing the ability to save. Is this worth listing as an anti-piracy measure on the actual page? Mr. Kite (talk) 22:07, 28 January 2018 (EST)
Monkeyman4412 2:01, 20 January 2019 (MST) It is worth mentioning. The game as far as I can seemed to circumvent piracy for a couple of days, maybe even more. I keep hearing that it was incredibly robust for the time. And that's not all ap measures Nintendo had. I heard that there was about ten different measures. (heard, not certain that is the actual number.) Sadly it seems like a lot of the in depth information has been nuked, or just flat out not there. But I do have three of the anti piracy measures the game used. (Not 100% certain. But these three were actually really common.) The first check was the save timing check. Simply put, flashcards had a tendency to write faster than the original ds carts. The save check likely applies to being unable to save. There was also the fact that even in game overlays could include checks as well. Which I'd imagine would be the battle check. As you mentioned before, when starting a battle, the game would lock up. During that time, the game is loading the bros/browser's battle hud, gui whatever it's called. While writing this I found a few more, but they are very difficult to word in a manor that would make sense. (involves some serious hacky explanations) However, there is one that you haven't mentioned yet. (and I can reasonably word without going eight-thousand words.) The menu lock up. Upon booting the game and getting past the checksum check (that's one of the more wordy ones to explain, could call it the white screen of death.) the game can also lock up at the save select menu. Which at the time of writing I'm not sure what ap check that is. The thing is you mentioned being unable to save and fight lock ups. Which means that you (or in whatever case you saw) was not the same check as the menu lock. (wouldn't be able to get passed the menu)
- The stuff that can be confirmed is definitely worth documenting on the page. You can recreate the file select lock by using a new command line parameter that was added to desmume. Not sure about the others - maybe you'd need to modify the overlays? --Hiccup (talk) 06:30, 20 January 2019 (EST)
- I have done a talk page about what I found. To just simplify. The game has 3 anti piracy check types, but uses them very often and not as a function. Meaning that removing one does not remove all of them. Which is the save timing check, the below 8000h check. And Checksum check. Monkeyman4412 (talk)

The checksum check and overlay check are the same. I ended up using the wrong term originally. In game overlays and their code can start a checksum check. Flashcards or newer ones automatically patch the game on the fly to remove all these ap checks. Which is why when using twlight menu (a 3ds/dsi homebrew that allows launching of slot1 games from the 3ds/dsi sd/microsd card.) Fails to boot quite a few games, as those ap checks are not removed automatically with nds-bootstrap (what twlight menu relies on) I was told that you could theoretically, get a anti piracy patch, patch the game, and then use diff between the ap version and ap removed version to find every ap check. Unfortunately, I do not have the know how at the time being to do so. Monkeyman4412 (talk)
Possible unused graphic
I was looking for some game sprites, when I noticed this https://imgur.com/a/u6BZKjp (I uploaded into a server, I hope it doesn't go against the rules),but I don't know if this is an unused sprite or a sprite that is used very rarely, since I had never seen it in the game (I don't think it's the stars attack since they are not the same sprites). --Nabil83 (talk) 20:18, 19 October 2019 (EDT)
Anti-piracy on legit carts were a thing too
yes, this is not a joke, or I might have owned a bootleg (although I think mine is just faulty (I did not mod my ds though so I think is is faulty because mostly I was able to progress) at times), it was like I could not progress to the game, resetting did the job 25% of the time, taking it out and putting it back in 66.3% and the thing that worked the best was if it acted like it was dusty and the pins weren't able to be red was *inhales* *blows on cartage* *inhales* *blows in the card one port* / blowing on the cartrage and in the hole. literly all you could not do was get passed the save data screen (it could have did that when a bunch of ds (and some 3ds) carts were accidentally spilled on with (doterra) oiled-water, other than that the game works, I have modded my dsi since (the cartrage slot does not work) and I have never had the issue since (the game has come from the exact cart, I used my modded 3ds (now in pieces (curse you broken hinge)) to rip the game .nds file
if you have had the same issue there you go (minus the oiled-water). — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Luke51632 (talk • contribs)
