The Cutting Room Floor:Content to expand
This is a list of games with known content, but no article on the wiki. Once they have an article, they go into to do or to investigate.
If you know of something in a game that's not here but don't have enough knowledge to write about it (and there's no article, or the article really sucks) feel free to add something to the list here and hopefully, somebody can look at it. Try to include the details you know to make it easier (websites, codes, etc.).
Before adding something here, check out The Cutting Room Floor:Common Things to see what not to add.
Once an article is created, move the information for a game onto its page, optionally using either of the to-do or investigate templates depending on what needs to be done.
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening sums it up best:
Here is your clue. Make all the red blue.

- Some SNES and Nintendo 64 games made available though LodgeNet had modifications done to them, most commonly to remove their multiplayer functionality.

- A Color Clown Comes to Town has some placeholder dialogue and alternate voice acting takes.
- Ar nosurge has some unseen English translations of Japan-only content.
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon appears to have quite a lot of unused content, as is usual with modern FromSoftware games. Models, textures, equipment, A cutscene relating to Handler Walter talking to V.IV Rusty and Rusty talking back, a cutscene for a cut mission relating to eliminating "Communist MTs" in the "Baranov Industrial New Land", other miscellaneous and test video files, NPCs, and likely more.

- Civilization IV and its expansion packs have a lot of unused graphics.
- Colors and Shapes with Hickory has a few unused bits of dialogue, but mostly the unaltered "Find the..." (SND4) and "Make them..." (SND5) recordings (the other two files have a silence gap but at a different file size and timestamp) stored as .BAK and .SAV files.

- Destiny has a wealth of content worth provoking, whether it be glitches to get into future DLC areas or unused voice clips.
- Since Dead Island 2 is out, a main page for the game should get made ASAP. The prototype page should also be updated as well.

- Dragon in a Wagon has some unused graphics and alternate voice acting takes.
- Dungeon Keeper (iOS, Android) has a lot of debugging stuff left behind, including some hints of a debug menu.

- Fire Pro Wrestling World seems to have files relating to scrapped DDT Pro Wrestling DLC?
- Garten of Banban 2 - Captain Fiddles was left unused but can be found out of bounds, some unused character animations were in the files (source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Gm3Czc-VM4), etc.

- Linda³ has an unseen "human" animal species.
- Lovely Weather We're Having has a debug mode, apparently code "777".
- Madden NFL 09 has an En Español version for the PS3 and Xbox 360. There's also a collector's edition, with extras like bonus videos and a Madden NFL 93 retro mode.
- Marvel Mighty Heroes has a debug menu, enabled through hacked APK files.
- Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds apparently contains empty character file references to Frank West and Dr. Octopus, as well as a plethora of sound clips which go completely unused, including a light hit KO clip for Zero, a few alternate lines for Dormammu, and a very overdramatized death cry for Galactus amongst numerous more.

- Medal of Honor: Frontline and Medal of Honor: Rising Sun have "tons of unused models in the game's folder. Most of the models are in .bsp extension".

- Some versions of Moto Racer 2 have the Yamaha branding in it. (Revisional or regional change?) The PC version has an anti-piracy related to gearbox that caused headaches for re-releases.
- There's a lot of cut content in EA Sports' NASCAR games. Jeremy Mayfield was cut from NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup, Carl Edwards' 2005 cars are still present in NASCAR 07, etc. There might be mentions from many other drivers as well that just didn't happen to be in videos.
- The Hendrick No. 5 car (Kyle Busch in NASCAR 07 and NASCAR 08, and Casey Mears in NASCAR 09) were cut from PAL releases of respective games, presumably due to Kellogg's-related licensing issues?
- NASCAR 09 (PS3/Xbox 360 version) has some leftovers from the PC versions of NASCAR Thunder 2003/2004, as it was built from the same engine (isiMotor), and what appears to be a leftover alpha channel for Mark Martin's 2007 Car of Tomorrow from NASCAR 08. They can be found here.
- NASCAR '14 had some field fillers (adapted from second-tier and Truck Series drivers) updated/removed in its first update/patch.

The Bee Tribe PC version also includes a debug executable with many debugging features, and can be used to access test levels.

- The Nintendo Switch version of Sega Genesis Classics removed Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair and Wonder Boy in Monster World.
- The Dreamcast and Windows ports of Sega Rally 2 have the Ford Escort cut from the non-Japanese versions because the Ford license expired before the international versions could be released due to various delays. There might be other changes in the car roster.
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider has a completely different ending in the unpatched version.
- Silent Hill games are barely present here. These links will help.

- Smurfs Epic Run has what appears to be a level editor in the files.
- Sniper: Ghost Warrior has a debug menu, which can be accessed in at least the Windows and Xbox 360 versions. It's unknown if the PS3 version has it too.

- Steven Universe: Attack the Light has an apparent debug menu.
- Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition features unused animations for a number of characters, including a command throw for Dan, a very early kicking throw for Ken, 3 unused Super concepts for Abel, a down MK body splash for E.Honda, and a ridiculous amount of unused concepts for Oni. It's highly likely that many of these (save for Oni's content) are present in the original Street Fighter IV. A video showing all of them is here: [2]

- WWF/WWE games have a lot to sift through:

Commodore
Commodore 64
- This thread from 2008 mentions a lot of unused things in various C64 games (sprites, hidden messages, other crap). Someone with better knowledge of old C64 games than me should check this thread out (I only code the C64, I don't play it...). The guy who ran The Games That Weren't has a blog post about this, plus more.
- A tape loader used in various games (Sanxion, Mega Apocalypse, etc.) apparently contains the string "HACKERS FUCK OFF AND DIE" (of course this doesn't show up in most/all of the cracked versions that have completely different loaders). By extension, the string probably appears in a number of different games. I wonder how that should be handled?
- "Going back to the C64 days, loading & resetting Thing on a Spring allowed you to perform SYS 49152 to access a complete disassembler. Similarly, a reset of Rambo followed by hitting the restore key entered the music editor." Source:Sean Dunlevy

- Various Flash games that were once on Nintendo's website. (Available through the Internet Archive. Some of them seem to be gone, though.)
Arcade
- Many CPS2 games have ROM flags that set it to the location test/debugging mode (see here). If it is worthy of here, document them.
- All the Parodius ports are usually different from each other. Parodius Da!: Shinwa Kara o Owarai e has the most noticeable cuts, with two whole levels disappearing in various ports. I can't remember which game, but Konami chose to change the BGM of a level from "That's The Way I Like It" to avoid copyright.
- The music change was in Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius. It was left intact in the console versions but changed in the PSP version to "Brilliant 2U" from DDR.

- Battle Gear 2 has an English-only update revision called Battle Gear 2V, which adds track maps to point-to-point tracks, as well as some other content from the PS2 port such as the Toyota MR2 GT-S (SW20). This change was carried forward to Tokyo Road Race, the European release of the PS2 port. Both original English (including ones with alternate title Top Speed 20XX) and 2V seem to also have the oval track unlocked by default.

- Four Trax has a version with changed banner ads for US release.
- Hard Drivin' and Race Drivin' both have regional/revisional differences in Hard/Race Drivin'. They go compact (lower resolution, different font, press shifter to start), British (drive on the left, traffic on the right), and for Race Drivin' Panorama where there is an extra track plus the game uses 3 screens. There are also multiple revisions but requires someone to understand the code changes.
- The Initial D Arcade Stage games (up to Ver. 4) uses Tokyopop dub names in the Export revisions (with some names coined by Sega's own localizers, such as Kenta in the NAOMI 2-era games, which goes by "Danny" instead of Tokyopop's "Kent" until Ver. 4). The Cycraft version of Ver. 3 also disables card and (outside Japan?) manual transmission support.

- Racing Jam (and Racing Jam: Chapter II) has different car names depending on the game region, including the NSX and Integra Type R carrying Acura branding when set to US region.

Additionally, having both players select Apocalypse and then ending the fight in a draw results in "X-MEN VS STREET FIGHTER COMING SOON" message during the continue screen. Apocalypse himself has an unused (and useless) some sort of fireball attack.
- Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 5 (and DX/DX+ revisions) has some cars available only in Japan, most of them through the Maxi.net Premium service (shut down now due to WMMT6 launch); DX+ made Honda S2000 Type S available for players who attempted to qualify for 2018 Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune World Championships, while it is possible to see the newer HiAce from searching for a space as a ghost name, and the Mini Cooper Countryman is solely there for Japan Challenge compatibility. Then there's the mythical Honda S660...

- Borench contains leftover copyright text from Bloxeed; need to see if it contains the full code for the screen

- OH BUT THERE ARE SOUND TEST STRINGS! Since the game never had a home port and the MVS service mode doesn't have a sound test...
- "COMING SOON"? (multiple)
- "SILENT@MODE"? "POSITION CHECK ROUTIN"? repeated Stage Select/Course Select strings for when starting a game?
- Tetris (Sega) and Flash Point - "OVERFLOW" in the RAM/ROM checks?
- Flash Point:
- Borench contains leftover copyright text from Bloxeed; need to see if it contains the full code for the screen
NORMAL OJAMA TETRIS TETRIS TIME NORMAL ITEM USE OJAMA
- Namco System 2 games (search for Now Production continues):
- Assault uses " RIDDLE OF RUBY " as a startup check string... is this significant in any way? there is no game by that title...

- Namco System 2 games (search for Now Production continues):

- According to the TVTropes page, there's some dummied-out Tamagotchis on the Tamagotchi ROMs. Look into that, and also document the debug menus on some of the Tamagotchis.

- Cartoon Jukebox (Europe)
- Family Games I
- Inca (Europe (EN/FR/DE/NL version))
- Power Hitter (Europe)
- Richard Scarry’s Best Neighborhood Disc Ever! (France)

- All of the Storybook Adventures titles (Beauty and the Beast, Pegasus, Santa Claus' Mice, etc.) have debugging versions of the main executable, much like CapDisc's CD-i output. Given their extreme similarity in menus, games, and cut content, they should be probably be condensed into a single page like Dingo Pictures' PlayStation titles.
- Treasures of Oz has unused debugging files (including a debug executable with extra error messages) in the folder debugDir.
- Uncover Featuring Tatjana has data and graphics for a cheat menu. Internal strings indicate that it's activated by a specific code on the keypad screen, though the exact combo is currently unknown.
Pinball
- Stern Pinball made a lot of games with hidden credits, but it's unknown if these use the same cheat code as South Park:
- Austin Powers

- High Roller Casino
- Playboy

- The Simpsons: Pinball Party
- However, these Stern Pinball games do have the same code as South Park:

- And then there's this repository of hidden Easter eggs.

- There are more JAKKS Pacific games with debug modes (some are mentioned here).
- Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Man Arcade Gold, Retro Arcade Featuring Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, and Wireless Ms. Pac-Man all have debug modes. No, seriously. Some of these have leftover sounds from a scrapped Jr. Pac-Man game, according to this site.
Sharp X68000
- Lots of Easter eggs in a lot of games (mostly developer messages, images, and sound test). How to access them can be found in Japanese cheat pages here.
- Metal Sight apparently has at least one unused song, or at least that's what the description of MDX/System Sacom/Metal Sight/METAL02.MDX in mdxo_mxdrv_complete.ra_ seems to imply. The file doesn't work with either mxdrv or mdxplay... (TODO: try the Windows-based players)
- D-Return - the following in mdxo_mxdrv_complete.ra_ are marked unused:
Binary file ./NOP/D-Return/D_RET31.MDX matches Binary file ./NOP/D-Return/D_RET35.MDX matches Binary file ./NOP/D-Return/D_RET36.MDX matches Binary file ./NOP/D-Return/D_RET37.MDX matches Binary file ./NOP/D-Return/D_RET38.MDX matches Binary file ./NOP/D-Return/D_RET34.MDX matches Binary file ./NOP/D-Return/D_RET33.MDX matches Binary file ./NOP/D-Return/D_RET32.MDX matches
Super A'can
- Speedy Dragon's bonus stage theme is probably longer than heard in-game - it abruptly cuts off when the 30-second time limit is reached.
TRS-80 Color Computer
- Rouge has a debug mode still on the disk, which can be enabled by changing a byte. Mobygames has the details on this already.
WonderSwan Color
- Final Fantasy has an unused naked bald guy in with the class select sprites, hinting at a possible use for that dude stored with the orb graphics in the original game.
- Final Fantasy IV is where the enhanced variants of the unused graphics in Final Fantasy IV Advance originally came from. It might be worth looking into whether the debug features in that port originated in this version since they only cover the original game.
ZX Spectrum
- Chaos: The Battle of Wizards has unused text for spells and unused enemies.
- Contact Sam Cruise has a sprite of the cat's tail pointing straight and a shady man.
