Surfing H3O |
---|
Also known as: Surfroid: Densetsu no Surfer (JP) This game has regional differences. |
Surfing H3O is a surfing game about aliens trying to take over the world... or at least that's what's going on in the Japanese version of the game. It was also notable for being packaged with a plastic surfboard that attaches to the DualShock 2's analog sticks to simulate surfing. Hang ten, dude.
Regional Differences
- The biggest change in the International versions was the complete removal of the plot involving aliens attempting to take over the world. With this and other visual changes, the game becomes just a regular old surfing game.
- Due to the removal of the story mode, the "START" option in the Japanese version that leads into the main game is replaced with two options: Tournament and a newly added VS Mode.
- The opening movie is different between the two versions.
- Also, the Japanese version has an introduction movie that plays after selecting START at the title screen. This movie, which explains the story of the game, is removed from the International versions.
- The title screen and loading screen are changed.

- The varied cast of characters from the Japanese version are completely replaced with generic human characters.
- The opening logos were changed in the international versions. The still images of the logos for ASCII, Opus Corp and RenderWare 3 are replaced with animated logos, in addition to the electrically powered Rockstar Games logo animation.
- The Japanese version's soundtrack is replaced with licensed music in the International versions.
