Debug Menu

Using the Pro Action Replay (PAR) code 00C5FF01 sets a flag which enables a debug mode on boot.

Hmmm...
To do:
Elaboration on some of these, especially on "Tenpai test" from someone who actually understands how to play mahjong.

Note that the "sound test" and "mah-jongg test" options no longer fully work; both of them expect the game to have already loaded the sound driver, but accessing the debug menu causes this not to happen.

Using the Pro Action Replay (PAR) code 0184F8EA will cause an alternate sound test to appear when selecting "normal game", automatically cycling through different songs at short intervals.

Other Debug Flags

Two other debug flags can be enabled using Pro Action Replay (PAR) codes:

  • 00C60101 causes an unknown 2-digit hexadecimal number to appear at the bottom right corner of the screen during gameplay.
  • 00C60301 enables a "freeze frame" code; at the title screen, press Up, Down, Right, Left, L, Left, Right, Down, Up, L, B. Afterwards, at any time, press R to toggle freeze frame on/off and L to advance by a single frame at a time.

Watch Pictures
