Hmmm...
To do:
  • Create pages for the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS versions, if needed.
  • Dig into the files for more unused stuff.

Summoner is one of the best RPGs on the PlayStation 2.

Sub-Page

Miscellaneous tidbits that are interesting enough to point out here.

Unused Map

Summoner - Test Level1.png Summoner - Test Level2.png

A simple, plain test map can be accessed with codes. This contains two torches which the player can pass through. There is also a merchant who seemingly has all the items that you could buy in the game.

USA Code:

Replace New Game With Test Level
21285120 74736574
21285124 00000000

With the above code on, enter New Game to appear here.

Unused Menus

The game contains some unused menus. You can enter different pages of them by using L2 (one page down) and L1 (one page up).

  • Item TEST - TEST LEVEL puts you to the unused test level.
  • Item TEST-SPELLS - SPELL TEST LEVEL will put you back into the main menu, probably because of a missing level file.
  • Several items direct you to subpages, which are used for selecting different versions of the levels.

  • Each item corresponds to one scene, selecting an item will play its scene. After the scene is over the game will put you to the area where the scene took place.
  • Unlike the other options, TEST will just put you to the unused test level, without playing a scene. This is probably because of a missing scene file.

Unused Music

boss_priest_king

The name implies that it was going to be used for the Priest King boss battle at Ikaemos Palace, but a generic boss battle theme plays there instead.

iona_interior

The name suggests that it was going to be used somewhere at the Iona Monastery. It is really similar to the default music of the level, but is noticeably different.

khosani_stronghold

The music that plays at the Khosani Stronghold is not similar at all to this music.

Sewers - (Area II)

Hmmm...
To do:
Document which versions have (this) music playing at Ikaemos Palace.

The Sewers are using a different music. The exact same music is used for Ikaemos Palace in some others versions of the game, but not in the European PS2 version: in this version there is no music at Ikaemos Palace, even though it can be found in the files, called ikaemos_palace.

Wolong

It is similar to the Wolong Caverns theme, but it is shorter and a little bit different.

World Map (Song 02)

A secondary theme for the World Map that is never used by the game.
