Steam Express is a train-themed Pipe Mania clone.

Like many of CyberPlanet Interactive's casual games, it was later ported to the PlayStation 2.

NOTE: All of the filepaths take in consideration the folder Data. All .bmp files are natively compressed under zlib.

Early Graphics

ready.tga, found in the directory puzzle\TextAni, is an early version of textready.tga, which contains the graphics seen when starting and clearing a level.

Likewise, areyousuretext.bmp and youwantSave.bmp, located in puzzle\Menupause, are two early versions of the message graphic seen when attempting to leave or save a game, respectively. Their final counterparts can be found in interface_font.tga.

back to main menu.bmp, also located in puzzle\Menupause, is an early version of the pause menu graphic. Differences include the buttons being located in the graphic itself, rather than in separate ones, and the wood texture being much more vibrant.

Thumbs.db Files

Throughout the game's directories are several Thumbs.db files, which were used in older versions of Windows to store image thumbnail data. Some of these files contain references to now-deleted assets, as seen below:

Folder: BackGround

Curiously, this folder's thumbnail repository contains references to graphics which originate from Heavy Weapon; more specifically, the background tiles from the first level, Frigistan.

This folder's thumbnail repository contains earlier versions of the game's title screen, as well as that of an early version of Laser Edge.

Folder: SelectProFile

Contains assets for button and text graphics which don't seem to fit the game's aesthetic. The first two graphics also originate from Heavy Weapon:
