Star Ocean: Till the End of Time brings Enix and Tri-Ace's sci-fi spacefaring RPG series to the PS2 with its battle system and expansive worlds in tow, culminating with a controversial ending.

This was one of the last releases from Enix prior to its merge with Square later in 2003.

Revisional Differences

The Director's Cut version, which also served as the basis for the localized versions of the game, added some new stuff along with various changes and bugfixes:

  • Mirage Koas, a secondary character in the original, was promoted to being a playable character.
  • An entirely new playable character, Adray Lasbard, was added.
  • A versus battle mode was added, which can be played against the computer or a second player.
  • Two additional dungeons were added: Urssa Lava Temple and Surferio Water Garden.
  • New music tracks were added.
  • Various bugs were fixed, including a major one that prevented the original version of the game from playing on the SCPH-10000 PS2 models.

The added content resulted in the game shipping on two discs, whereas the original version only needed one disc.
