European Version
US | Europe |
---|---|
The European version of the game introduces an odd bug with the Catacombs cutscene. For some reason the line "That was not my doing... However, one who has not given his soul to the Dark Force, cannot touch, let alone destroy the Staff." was repeated twice in the script, causing the cutscene to become out of sync.
Sega Logo
Japanese | English |
---|---|
For some inexplicable reason, they decided the rest of the world needed to see the Sega Logo with double the framerate. They also changed the TM to an R while they were at it. No other Movie file was changed.
Ending
To do:
|
The final cutscene has been changed for the US and European regions, adding extra lines and rewriting the script in such a way that it removes all reference to the events of Scenario 2. Now instead of Governor General Garvin blowing the gates of Aspia open for Domaric and a coerced Medion to invade the Castle, it is stated that Domaric found a secret passage to invade the castle, so that he may thank you for getting rid of Arrawnt. Worth noting is the fan translation, while more accurate, also adds a few extra touches, such as shaken text for one of Fynnding's lines.
Despite the rewrite, these changes do not extend to other parts of the game, such as the synchronicity points, and save files from US and European discs will still work fine on Scenarios 2, 3, and the Premium Disc.

King Benetram: How ghastly... The Titan went on a rampage and destroyed Aspia, our beautiful Capital city |
King Benetram: How ghastly... The Colossus went on a rampage... and destroyed our beautiful town of Aspia. | |
Duke Palsis: It will take some time to rebuild, but as long as Aspia continues to receive aid from Lookover and it's gold mine, it will rebound. |
Duke Palsis: It will take a long time to rebuild. But, if we continue to get aid from Lookover, the town will come back soon. | |
King Benetram: Gold can Repair the buildings, but nothing will bring back all the lives that were lost |
Benetram: Money can repair the buildings... But who will bring back the slaughtered people... | |

Dantares: That's not quite true, Lord [Player]. We were victorious... because of your great leadership. |
Dantares: That's not quite true, Lord [Player]. We were victorious... because of your great leadership. | |
King Benetram: I appreciate everything you have done, [Player]. Despite your father's tragic death, you saved Aspinia. |
King Benetram: I appreciate the work, [Player]. Despite your father's tragic death, you saved all of Aspia. | |
Duke Palsis: It appears Emperor Domaric's siege of the inner wall has begun. |
Duke Palsis: The Empire is still camped out outside of the inner wall. | |
Lord Tristus: There should be no need to worry. Since ancient times, no force has ever breached the inner wall. That wall is responsible for our independence. |
Lord Tristus: There should be no need to worry. Since the time of the ancients, no force has ever broken through the inner wall. | |
Duke Palsis: What could they be Planning...? They wouldn't attempt a siege if they didn't believe they could breach the wall. |
Duke Palsis: I wonder what they are planning? Why would they remain outside there if they know they cannot breach the wall? | |
Lord Tristus: The generals are worried, but the castle walls have always held. |
Lord Tristus: I don't know why the Generals are so worried, the city walls have always protected us. | |
King Benetram: Lord Tristus, you have apparently not learned of the secret passage... |
King Benetram: Tristus doesn't know of the secret passage... Since Arrawnt knew about | |
Arrawnt knew of it, so that ninja Yasha might know as well. |
it, maybe that Ninja that got away knows too... | |
Duke Palsis: I see... You fear the enemy might find this secret passage. |
Duke Palsis: I see... Now it makes sense... You fear the enemy might find this secret door. | |
King Benetram: I'm not certain the Imperials know of the secret, but i'm still worried about Tybalt. I pray nothing happens to him. |
King Benetram: I'm also worried about Tybalt up on that wall. I pray nothing happens to him. | |

should the need occur. |
Lord Tristus: The [Player] army needs to get some rest. General Tybalt and the castle wall will protect us. |
Lord Tristus: I disagree, Dantares. If i were you, i'd leave my trust in the strength of the wall, and take the chance to rest. | |
What's wrong Fynnding? You look like you've seen a ghost. What's going on down there? |
What is wrong, Fynnding? You flew in like you'd seen a ghost. | |
Fynnding: [Shaken]The situation is dire... The imperials... |

Duke Palsis: What has happened?! |
Duke Palsis: What has happened?! | |
Fynnding:The imperial army is inside the inner wall and headed towards the castle! |
Fynnding: There is a squad from the Imperial Army inside the walls! They are now coming toward the castle! | |
Dantares: What of General Tybalt and the Barrand army!? |
Dantares: Tybalt and the garrison... What happened to them!? | |
Fynnding: They have been... completely annihilated by the Imperials. |
Fynnding: They are still at their post. No one knows what has happened! | |
King Benetram: Now is not the time for bloodshed between Aspinia and Destonia... |
King Benetram: The secret passageway... Domaric, this is no time to be fighting amongst ourselves... | |
Emperor Domaric... Surely you know... There will be no Aspinia or Destonia if Vandals gain control of this world. |
We all by now should be aware of what will happen if the Bulzome Cult has their way. | |
Yet your conquest continues... |
If the Vandals return to power, the Republic and the Empire are doomed. Will you still continue your conquest? | |
Dantares: What are you doing here!? |
Dantares: What are you doing here!?! | |
Campbell: Dantares... We meet again... |

Finally, my dearest wish of 20 years has been fulfilled. I have reclaimed the teritory which was stolen by Conrad. |
My Ninja Yasha has informed me on what has been going on. | |
Lord Tristus: Emperor Domaric? This can't be. You were abducted... |
Lord Tristus: The Emperor Domaric...? It cannot be...I thought the Emperor was kidnapped by the Bulzome. | |
King Benetram: I should have known there was a master plan behind this abduction farce that put our two nations on the path to war. Isn't that right, Emperor Domaric? |
King Benetram: To what do we owe the pleasure of this visit, Emperor Domaric? | |
Emperor Domaric: -smirk- You're tactful as ever, Benetram... Have you come to surrender Aspia? |
Emperor Domaric: SMIRK... Tactful as ever... I just came to 'thank' you for taking care of my over-ambitious son. | |
[Player]: ....... |
[Player]: ....... |

Grantack: Lord [Player], that's not true. This is absolutely unavoidable. |
Grantack: It seems we were unaware of the extremes Prince Arrawnt would adapt to attempt to get the throne... | |
Fiderit: You... I saw you in Saraband. Yes, you must be [Player]. |
Fiderit: Nonetheless, we have many things to repay you for from the past! | |

Dantares: I won't allow you to lay a hand on Lord [Player]! |
Dantares: You'll have to go through me first to get to Lord [Player]! | |
Campbell: Dantares... Is that a challenge...? I'm ready anytime. Our reckoning is long overdue! |
Campbell: Dantares... That sounds like a challenge... Don't wait on my account. Our reckoning is long overdue! | |
[Player 2]: Calm down, Campbell... Don't hasten the fight. Save the battle for the battlefield. Now is not the time or place! |
[Player 2]: Calm down, Campbell... You shall have your chance, but this is not the time or the place | |
[Player]: ....... |

Fiderit: Will you betray the Empire, Prince Medion? You have promised to avenge Prince Arrwnt's death. If that promise isn't kept... |
Fiderit: Will you betray the memory of your brother Prince [Player 2]? Prince Arrawnt's death demands vengance. | |
Campbell: Please let me fight, Prince Medion... Even if I will be labeled as an invader for the rest of my life, as long as i can save her life... |
Campbell: Let me do this, Prince [Player 2] We can't just let them go free... | |
[Player]: ....... |
[Player]: ....... |
[Player]: ....... |
[Player 2]It's too late, Lord [Player]. We would not be in this situation if my brother Arrawnt hadn't fallen to you in battle. |
[Player 2]: You're right, [Player], my brother's actions were clearly influenced by the Bulzome monks. If not for you maybe | |
