Sexy Parodius (Arcade)
Sexy Parodius |
---|
Developer: Konami Computer Entertainment Roppongi[1] This game has regional differences. |
Sexy Parodius is the third and last Parodius game to be released in arcades. The oddball cast of the previous games, plus some new faces, start a heroes-for-hire business to help their boss score with the ladies, and maybe make the world a better place while they're at it. Much fanservice ensues. (What did you expect with a name like that?)
This one is notable for having different "routes" throughout the game, depending on whether or not the player completes each stage's objective.

Regional Differences
Title Screen
In addition to the game's logo being translated to English, the background gradient is changed from pink-and-blue to two shades of purple, loaded as a region-specific graphic.

Music
The Asia version had the music for the casino level (titled "'Please, Help Me!' (Warehouse Stage BGM)" in the official soundtrack) completely replaced, probably for copyright reasons. The original was inspired by "El Bimbo" by Claude Ciari; the Asian version is a remix of Mozart's "Symphony No. 40."

Hidden Player Select Message
In the background of the "Select Player" screen is some graffiti, with the top half saying "Hey! I need more raise!" and having an alien doodle, while the bottom half has an aiaigasa, having the names of some characters: Hikaru-chan (ひかる ちゃん) on the left side, while on the right side Takosuke's name (タコスケ) is crossed out and replaced with Viper (バイパー♡).
This background is only briefly seen before the rest of the player select options in the foreground load in. Note that only the top half of the background is displayed in both the Japanese and Asian English versions, while the bottom half is exclusive to the Japanese version.
