At the beginning of the game, name the player ダップ and choose the boy or name the player パリラ and choose the girl. The following functions will now be available during gameplay:

Map Select

Press Start. Choose a map with Up and Down and press A to go there. Press B to close the window.
The Window is marked with a "Map Number" (マップばんごう) in Japanese.

Walk Through Anything

Hold A and use the D-Pad to move around.

Speed Up Movement

Hold B and use the D-Pad to move around.

Special Configuration Mode

Press Select. Functions are follows:

  • FLG: Flag editor. Press Up and Down to turn each flag on and off. Hold L and press Select to save.
  • BTL: Press X to toggle. Set to 0 to disable random battles.
  • DSP: Press Y to toggle. Set to 1 to add a debug display, which contains the ID number of the current map and the player's current X and Y coordinates, to the top left corner of the screen.

A build date is also present at the bottom of the window.
