Sure, Rough Ranger rips off pretty much every aspect of Namco's Rolling Thunder, but did the latter have an 8-bit rendition of Boléro? It did not.

Version Differences

Boot Screen

Super Ranger (Old) Rough Ranger (v2.0) Super Ranger (v2.0)
I know these aren't the most interesting differences But they are the most obvious Mr. Carpainter is pleased

The ROM check text was changed in Rough Ranger from "O.K." to "GOOD", for some assuredly boring reason. The newer version of Super Ranger just paints the text blue.

The Super Giana Rangers Looks rough to me

The game's title was changed overseas. They didn't make much of an effort to match the original "SUPER" graphic, did they?

Game Map

Sartre was a big fat liar!
The biggest change between the old and new versions is this Ghosts 'n Goblins-style game map that appears after the intro cutscene.

I like the rogue cursor in the bottom-middle there
At the start of each stage, the current area will be outlined on the big map.
