HUD
The Japanese version has a mech name written next to player's health, each one is unique to every possible mech that player can assemble (64 total). This was removed in the international version.

Briefings and endings
The Japanese version has story intermissions between stages, plus the ability to select your next stage on two occasions. Chosen path determines which one out of four endings player gets. All of this was omited in the international version, making the player to go through all twelve stages and get the best ending (Ending A), leaving other three unused.
Despite this, the unused endings remain in the international version and were even translated, but can only be accessed by modifying address 3F018F (which allows you to select any stage).
