The opening is missing a backing track in the two earliest prototypes, making the title song sound like it's looping.

General Differences
- The Sega logo simply plays the "SEEEGAAA" sound.
- The opening tune plays without any change in melody.
- Options menu is not accessible.
- The header has "Virtua Racing" instead of "V.R.DX".
- The "Virtua Racing" sound does not play upon pressing Start.
- Both High Land and Sand Park use High Land's music track.
- High Land and Sand Park are both missing course map pictures on the bottom of the course selection screen.

Sand Park has a much more orange sand color. The SEGA text inscribed in the grass is missing in the prototype, and the concrete on the right has a smoother angle.
