This revision of the track can be seen in a screenshot from the game's international packaging. The .SCR.BAK files for this revision are also in the source, named G3-X, and were last revised on 5/10/1992.

  • A jump bar next to the lake, as well as some wet gravel hugging the corner on the bottom left was removed.
  • The inner wall has no diagonal protrusions.
  • There are more bushes surrounding the track. Also, there are some empty gaps with no bushes in parts of the grass where the big hairpin is, which is left over from when the road split into two paths in earlier builds.

  • Like the earlier April proto, the checkpoint data wasn't updated for the AI to go through the shallow water on the left yet. They drive alongside the wall and sink into the deep water instead.


Vanilla Lake

General

  • The destruction animation for the ice blocks that you have to jump against to maintain speed still doesn't exist; the blocks simply disappear when touched.

  • Several more batches of coins were added later on.
  • ? panels were shifted around slightly.
  • The off-road area within the inner wall was originally drivable, with a jump bar present to exit out. Additionally, it's possible to skip laps by driving in circles in the center because the finish line data ends there. The final removes the snowballs within the center and uses an extra tile with an out-of-bounds attribute to prevent players from entering.
  • Small protruding pieces of walls were removed later on.
  • The ice blocks on the right side of the track are in two pieces formed together.
  • The pack of ice blocks at the bottom is denser.

Vanilla Lake 2

  • Several batches of coins were removed or swapped out.
  • ? panels are spaced out slightly.
  • The ice blocks on the right are formed in one single chunk instead of three separate chunks.
  • The set of ice blocks on the final turn is denser.

Rainbow Road

  • No Thwomps are present.
  • No coins are present at all.
  • More ? panels were added.
  • Many jump bars were removed.
  • A majority of the track is much thinner in width.
  • Aside from the lack of Thwomps, the track has object positions, but they appear to be the same as the piranha plants from the removed Choco Island 3 course.
  • Skidding on the track uses Ghost Valley's brown smoke colors. This means that Rainbow Road's palette was created using Ghost Valley's palette, and the smoke color wasn't updated yet.
