Official U.S. PlayStation Demo Disc 49

  • Files dated by June of 2001.
  • Another legal screen.
  • Only 1st and 2nd levels are available. Game loads straight to stage menu.
  • Levels .pck files were differs, when other files for stages are taken from E3 build.
  • Stages looks very close to them from E3 build. After several seconds of ending stage, game automatically exits to demo disc menu.
  • Despite 14th level doesn't accessible in this demo, it's files still presented in build.
  • SPY_GE1.PSS is same as in retail US version, same for INTRO.PSS, when logos videos taken from E3 build. SPY_PG1.PSS differs from all versions, despite looks same as E3 counterpart.

Official PlayStation 2 Magazine UK Demo Disc 12

  • Files dated by June-July of 2001.
  • Contents of this demo were reused for Official PlayStation 2 Magazine UK Demo Disc 32. Also demo utilizes same files, as Official U.S. PlayStation Demo Disc 49 build, but uses another LEGAl.VKI, SPY.ELF. and movies counterparts from European version of game.
  • Another legal screen, differs from aforomentioned US demo.

  • Only 2nd level is available.
  • Stage looks very close to them from E3 build. After several seconds of ending stage, game automatically exits to demo disc menu.
  • Despite 1st and 14th level doesn't accessible in this demo, it's files still presented in build.
  • M_LOGOP.PSS is same as M_logo.pss in European Retail and uses same Midway logo animation as E3 build/Official U.S. PlayStation Demo Disc 49 build (final US version used different video). but with another and creepy sound. SPY_PG1.PSS differs from final counterpart from European Retail versions, despite looks exactly the same. SPYINTRP.PSS (in final Intro.pss) had lower bitrate.

Standalone European Demo

  • This build uses id SLED-50488.
  • Build was compiled at August 13th, 2001 (executable probably compiled at August 7th, 2001).
  • Based on almost finished game, only a few files were changed. Same INTRO.PSS as in Official PlayStation 2 Magazine UK Demo Disc 12 build.
  • Available only 5th level Double Vision, it's files are same, as in final game. No video of ending level.
  • Despite it's European Demo, some files matches with contents of US version, not European.
