Prototype 830 of Sonic 3D Blast, dated August 31, 1996, was released by drx during the February 23, 2008 proto release.

General Differences

  • Music is now played during the intro movie and doesn't start when the Traveler's Tales logo is visible, but said music also plays on the title screen.
  • "Press Start" is still displayed in the demo play.
  • Rusty Ruin and Diamond Dust have been removed from the demo play.
  • Level Select is still activated automatically when starting a game.
  • Pressing A while the game is paused will skip levels.
  • The good ending cutscene ends early and plays the credits music.
  • The bad ending does not have Robotnik juggling the Chaos Emeralds, unlike the final.

Aesthetic Differences

  • The opening FMV is as it was in Prototype 825.
  • The title screen still uses Prototype 814's layout, so it's just a glorified 256 x 224 image. The banner doesn't change when the region is set to Europe.

  • The credits have been implemented, but are not finished. They lack any coloring and most of the credits are missing.

Beginning at 0x2286B is a cluster of placeholder text for various screens and sequences which were used in earlier builds. Due to said sequences being present in this build, they are never used.
