Slade – an anthropomorphic rat thief – and two hired goons enter an old shrine. They go over to the lower-right hallway and find nothing.

The scene switches to Granseal Castle's throne room at night. There's a thunderstorm outside.

Cut back to Slade and co. working on trying to pull the jewels out of the chamber. Slade tries last...

Slade decides to pull out both of the jewels at the same time...which works, though Slade gets thrown across the room.

The shrine starts shaking violently.

Granseal Castle (again)
...King Granseal and the minister are in the dark throne room.

A blinding lightning strike lights the room back up. The minister looks out the window at the Ancient Tower...

King Granseal believes that the tower is disaster-proof. The scouting soldier comes back and says the tower doors have opened! The minister decides to go with the scout.

More lightning strikes. King Granseal sees a flash of a shadowy figure in the chamber. Then the figure appears again.

The figure, revealed as a green demon, materializes in front of the king and begins to cast a spell.

The King is knocked out by the spell. End of game. I mean, end of scene.
Witch's Forest
Fade to an enclosure in a dark forest. The only figure around is a purple-cloaked witch stirring something in a giant cauldron.

Hee, hee, hee... Finally you're here! Ah, you look so confused. You don't know why you're here. Yes, yes...I used a charm on you. Ha, ha, where are you going? You can't escape from this mystery forest unless you grant me my request.
