This cactus is UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
Notes: Investigate malformed data that's causing the client to disconnect from the open-source Clank server. This is most likely an easy fix for someone familiar with the Medius protocol.

A public beta compiled on June 20, 2004. This build was intended for testing online multiplayer functionality and therefore does not include any campaign or split-screen modes.

The build attempts to contact a Medius server at ratchet3-pubeta.pdonline.scea.com, however since this server was shut down long ago the build is currently unplayable and only the menus are accessible. Patching out the DNAS authentication checks and pointing the now-nonexistent domain to a local Medius server such as Clank allows the player to log in to the lobby server, however due to malformed data it is currently not possible to progress further than the "City Select" screen.

It seems at some point in development the player would have been able to customize the Morph-O-Ray
Camera controls were moved to a submenu and the Location & Morph-O-Ray options were removed in the final game

Errors

RC3 PublicBetav1 ErrorMGCLStartupFailed.png

Logging in with the open-source Clank server results in this error. Strangely, pressing Login a second time does not result in an error.

RC3 PublicBetav1 ErrorDisableChatFailed.png

This error seems to randomly occur after pressing Logout when the player has already been dropped from the server.

RC3 PublicBetav1 ErrorInternal.png

This error seems to happen randomly when reloading online multiplayer after being disconnected.
