Firmware version 0.850.070 was found on a PS5 prototype development kit.
As an early build of the firmware, the system menu contains many things from the PS4's menu.
Differences
- The background is different.
- No menu music.
- All of the sounds and icons were left unmodified from the PlayStation 4's menu.
- The Games and Media tabs are positioned further to the left.
- The positions of the User and Settings icons are switched.
- The icon of the Settings menu is a toolbox instead of a gear.
- The Search icon is missing.
- The icons in the home menu are much less rounded.
- Notifications are on the bottom right, rather than the top right in the release version.
- The shutdown screen has no image on the right, and the console is referred to as simply $PFN$.
