The Co-op Build was released on November 30th, 2019, where Patreon playtesters got their first look into what co-operative play would look like in the final game. Of course, in the end, Co-op mode was scrapped and was replaced with Swap Mode when the Noise Update came out, but it's still interesting to see where the idea of the mode originated from. In fact, some features mentioned here are even reused in Swap Mode!

Differences

  • When landing on the ground in Firebutt form, the recovery animation is no longer shown.
  • The hub from the SAGE 2019 Demo is reused, but Snick and the Cowboy Tasks are removed. Additionally, Pizzascare has a gate.
  • Exit gates are the same as the ones you use to enter a level rather than a simple wooden door.

Co-Op Features

  • Players would be able to steal each other's flag in order to take control of the camera.
  • To break metal blocks, Player 1 would have to run into Player 2 to go into a fightball state. From there, blocks and enemies could be defeated while in that form.
