- A message box in the room where you rescue Tia doesn't exist in the prototype.
- Levers use a different color for the knob.
- A submerged box in the prototype was replaced with a red crystal.

In the retail version, you don't obtain the bomb skill until Alunze Castle. It's just a standard door to enter the hallway full of monsters.
Other map changes:
- The design of the two central rooms has changed slightly.
- In the retail version, the treasure hidden at the back of the monster hallway is placed such that Maxim can't reach the other treasure, too.
- The Southeast treasure room had its corner wall altered.
- More cracks in the walls were added to the retail version.
- Small rocks were added to the Southwest rooms of the retail version.

The prototype puzzle is solved by pushing all 5 pillars to the walkway in the center. This was updated with a much better puzzle solved by pushing blocks to change the arrow pointing from down to up.

A more fitting background was added for the Catfish boss fight.
Other map changes:
- Overall map size increased in the retail version for the rising/falling water level sections.
- Treasure chest for the Lake key had its palette changed.
