Proto:Kirby & the Amazing Mirror/Pause Screen
This is a sub-page of Proto:Kirby & the Amazing Mirror.
Early sketches of the instructions and ability descriptions displayed on the pause screen exist in the Demo. These can only be accessed by editing your current ability at 02020DFF and then pausing. Despite some of these versions going unused in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, finalized versions of these sketches had already been showcased in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land.
To do: Some pause screens on this page show "Normal Kirby" instead of the proper ability icon, specifically the ones listed under "Prototype (Final) & Release". Perhaps they should be placed in the triple revision section to reflect that the ability icon was added between the prototype and the release? |

Background
The background for the pause screen is different in the Demo. It seems to be based on the one found in Nightmare in Dream Land, as it has the same arrows near the button prompts indicating that the player should press the D-Pad to cycle through them.

The only button prompts to show up are also different, as they detail different instructions.

The early buttons can still be found in the final game, translated into other languages.
Normal Kirby Pause
This pause screen, while similar to Nightmare in Dream Land's, was updated for Amazing Mirror to include a reference to the Super Inhale mechanic.

Double Revision Screens
The pause screens documented below all went through 2 revisions. Cutter and Stone's early pause screens resembled the ones from Nightmare in Dream Land before being changed to the updated ones for Amazing Mirror, while Cook. Cupid. Magic. Smash. Mini. Missile, and Master have 2 completely different design between their early and finalized screens.

Triple Revision Screens
The pause screens documented below all went through three revisions between the early sketch, the Demo's screen, and the finalized game.
Placeholder
The following pause screen belongs to an unused "WAIT" state, previously used in Nightmare in Dream Land when Kirby was KOd in multiplayer.
