A rolling demo of IndyCar Racing was compiled/made available sometime in 1993, around the release of the full game. The demo features a replay of nine cars (including the player car, named as "Papyrus") around Laguna Seca.

Newman/Haas Racing

This demo is notable for the inclusion of Mario Andretti in his Newman/Haas Racing livery. Due to licensing issues (possibly because the team and Nigel Mansell starred in their own video game, Newman/Haas IndyCar Featuring Nigel Mansell, which also did have CART licensing much like this one), the livery was removed from the final game and Andretti was given a generic livery from a fictional team named "Championship Drivers Group". Andretti's car number was also changed from 6 to 5, which is Mansell's in real life (the Mansell stand-in in the final game used Mario Andretti's number as a result).

The loss of the Newman/Haas license also meant later copies of the game had Stefan Johansson's car added (sometimes as a sticker) on the cover box.
