Prerelease:WWE WrestleMania 21

This page details pre-release information and/or media for WWE WrestleMania 21.

WWE WrestleMania 21 was announced at E3 2004. WWE Raw 3 was cancelled, THQ gave Studio Gigante the role to make a wrestling game and this was created. It was released in April 2005 in America and May 2005 in Europe.

Early Trailer

This is the early trailer for the game. A lot of the footage would be reused for the final game's intro. It has some weird differences.

• Some of the models had a more cartoony look such as John Cena, Andre The Giant, Christian and Randy Orton.
• Big Show has his hair from 2003 as his model as opposed to him being bald in 2004.
• The cage roof break sound effect was different.
• There is no HUD.
• Some of the arena lighting is different.

Trailer

This is a promo trailer from March 2005. Some of the footage would be reused for the final game's intro. It has some odd differences.

• The Become A Legend text is never seen in the final game.
• Kane's entrance arena side lighting is different.
• It uses the WrestleMania 20 arena as opposed to WrestleMania 21. This was due to behind the scenes problems.
• None of the wrestlers have their nameplates appearing during their entrances.
• There is no HUD.
• Kane's taunt animation is slightly different.
• There is no titantron or gameplay music.
• There is no sound throughout the video.

Promo Footage

This seems to match the promo trailer but has more gameplay footage and a few things seem to be added. It's dated 3rd March 2005. It has most of the same differences as the trailer whilst having new differences. Some of the footage would be reused for the final game's intro.

• There is no HUD.
• Strike and Grapple move sound effects have been added.
• Commentary has been added.
• Crowd noise sound effects have been added.

Commercial

This is a commercial for the game which has a strange IGN watermark on it. It has a lot of curious differences. The footage at the end would be reused for the final game's intro.

• The Undertaker's entrance lighting is different.
• The WrestleMania 21 logo effect on the WrestleMania 20 arena entrance during Andre The Giant's introduction is strangely absent.
• The wrestlers have placeholder grunt sound effects.
• There are placeholder sound effects for grapple moves and weapon attacks.
• Trish Stratus has a different colour attire. This can be seen in earlier builds of the game and in the final game's intro.
