Early Characters Behaviors

A few weeks before release, Scott Cawthon had announced that he had changed the behaviors of certain characters to make them more difficult.

Phantom Freddy

Phantom Freddy used to only jumpscare the player and cause a blackout once fully materialized, but he was changed to materialize faster the higher the temperature was, and his jumpscare now allowed any animatronics in the front vent to enter the office if they were by the door.

Jack-O-Chica

Jack-O-Chica used to be affected by the doors regardless if the temperature was 100 degrees or more.

Nightmare Bonnie, Nightmare Mangle and Baby

Nightmare Bonnie, Nightmare Mangle and Baby used to not be able to attack if the right door was closed.

Early Buttons

In the demo version Scott gave to Youtubers, there are early versions of the Office and Challenges buttons. Their size was lowered in the full game in favor of there being space for the Power-Ups button.

Early Controls

Also in the demo version Scott gave to Youtubers, the key to turn on the Flashlight used to be Ctrl like in all games in the series prior to this, instead of Z.

Old Rosters

The roster of characters was changed several times before the final one was settled. These changes were posted in Scott Cawthon's website Scottgames.com.

Version 1

The first complete version of the roster published.

Version 2

The second version of the roster published. Nightmare Freddy and the Freddles were combined, for Nightmare to be added. Adventure Endo 01 was replaced by Withered Bonnie. Bucket Bob, Mr. Can Do and No. 1 Crate were combined, for Nightmarionne and Molten Freddy to be added. Candy Cadet was replaced by Withered Chica.

Scott Cawthon had said that Candy Cadet and Adventure Endo 01 would make appearences in the game despite being removed, and although Candy Cadet is in the first office as decoration, Adventure Endo 01 is completely absent from the game.

Version 3

The third version of the roster published. The number of characters was increased from 40 to 44, and characters were sorted by the order of the games they appeared in. Phantom Mangle, Phantom Freddy, Nightmare BB and Helpy were added.

Version 4

The final version of the roster published. The number of characters was increased from 44 to 50. Withered Bonnie and Withered Chica were switched in their order. Phantom BB, Nightmare Bonnie, Old Man Consequences, Funtime Foxy, Nedd Bear and Orville Elephant were added.
