Reveal Trailer
Spyro Reignited Trilogy was revealed on April 5th, 2018 after a few days of teasing by the developers. While Spyro 1 was the only game in the trilogy shown off, that doesn't mean there weren't any notable differences...
- The Artisans homeworld has much heavier shading compared to the final.
- The grass in the Toasty boss fight level looks slightly darker.
- The atmosphere in the Blowhard boss fight is different- it looks sunnier, and there are less clouds in the sky.
- Ice Cavern looks darker.
- Lofty Castle looks darker and has less fog.
- Spyro's voice clips ("Bring him on!" in the Toasty boss fight and "Uhmmm..." when freeing Delbin) sound different than how they do in the final game.
- Possibly the most notable difference, Nestor has a completely different design. This ended up sparking slight controversy from fans online, leading to Toys for Bob giving him a new design that's more faithful to his design from the original game. To prevent wasting an entire model, this early design was recolored yellow to become Oswin in the final game (After all, nobody cared about any of the other dragons so it was easier to give them the more wacky and weird designs without complaint.)
Artisans and Magic Crafters E3 B-Roll Footage
This footage was shown during E3 2018.
- Artisans has the exact opposite difference from before- now it's way brighter than it is in the final.
- The taunts the thieves make at the player are lower-pitched than they are in the final.
- The cave in the Magic Crafters homeworld is brighter inside than it is in the final.
- The dynamic "stand-still" music plays in these 2 levels regardless of the player's actions- they were more than likely placeholders.
Hurricos Playthrough
On August 15th, 2018, a playthrough of the Spyro 2 level, Hurricos, was posted to the Spyro YouTube channel. Some slight differences can be seen.
- The camera is at a different angle when talking to Zapp the Electroll.
- The textbox looks more "glossy" than in the final.
- The rainbow in the sky looks smaller.
- Zoe doesn't have a glowing effect around her, resulting in her having heavier shading.
