Early Character Select Screen

This early version of the character select screen had the same background and font for the "Select Your Fighter" text from Mortal Kombat 4 and lacked the weapon selection feature present in the final release. Cyrax, Baraka, Mileena, Kitana and Kung Lao had different selection icons. Of special note, there are two question mark fields, and Goro and Noob Saibot icons are present in the pre-release character select screen, suggesting that they were originally planned to be playable characters from the start before becoming hidden characters similar to the home versions of Mortal Kombat 4.
