Original Death To Spies III: Ghost of Moscow version

The original concept for Alekhine's Gun was able to use the Death To Spies series name due to 1C originally publishing it (who own the rights to the series name). Notable differences in this version include having 3 playable characters instead of 1, missions having different objectives, and seemingly a different plot based on what little we know.

Teaser Trailer

The game's original teaser trailer, which was released around Aug 5, 2015 (With the final game releasing on Mar 1, 2016) has various changes compared to the final game:

  • Different Semyon VA.
  • CGI Video, the final game uses still black and white images while the trailer uses colored fully animated scenes, some of which appear to be based on cutscenes from the final game, it is unknown if these were made for the trailer or if the final game was intended to have these scenes be fully animated CGI and time/money constraints resulted in them becoming black and white still images instead.
  • What appears to be an edited version of the cut "Gorlov" character appears briefly, (in a blue suit instead of his brown outfit in the game's files) this is a placeholder for Rambaldi, Rambaldi's steam trading card image actually uses this render for Rambaldi's card instead of his in-game apperance.
