Persona 5/Unused Items
This is a sub-page of Persona 5.
Contents
Consumables
Books
None of the unused books can be read. Despite this, Annals of Greatness, Art of Karakuri and The Hero with a Bow have corresponding unused dialogue for being read.
Hex ID | Name | Description | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
056 | Homemaker Hero | A book that teaches the tricks of buying household electronics for cheap. | |
084 | Teen's Life | A magazine that lets you grasp the must-know fads of young people. | |
087 | New Choju-Giga | A book that analyzes old manga from various angles. It's very thick. | |
088 | PT Bible | Has everything a Phantom Thief devotee should know. | These books were likely intended to have been sold by one of the bookstores during the in-game Phantom Thieves hype between September and October. |
089 | Phan-Sightings | A book documenting alleged Phantom Thief sightings. | |
08A | Annals of Greatness | Details famous people's exploits. Could help you think outside the box. | |
08C | How to Karakuri | A book on the technology of karakuri. Become better with details. | This book is located between Call Me Chief and Reckless Casanova, so it was probably intended to have been available at the Jinbocho book store. |
0172 | The Okumura Way | Memoir of Kunikazu Okumura, whose life philosophy pioneered a new age. | This book is mentioned by several NPCs but it cannot actually be obtained by the player. |
0173 | Med. Tech for Teens | A book explaining medical science in layman's terms. A must for novices. | These books seem to correspond to a few of the player's Confidants, namely Tae Takemi, Munehisa Iwai, Hifumi Togo and Toranosuke Yoshida respectively. It's possible that reading these would have affected the progression of the Confidant in some way. |
0174 | Guns of the World | A catalog of guns covering both eastern and western models. For gun freaks. | |
0175 | Shogi World | A special on the move that rocked the shogi world. For shogi aficionados. | |
017A | Pure Politics | Focuses on the life of a famous politician. For aspiring politicians. | |
0185 | The Hero With A Bow | The folklore of Robin Hood. Reading this could make you kind. | Books about the Personas of the Phantom Thieves become available in the Shujin Library when they join the party. However this book about Goro Akechi's Persona, Robin Hood, never becomes available even after Akechi joins the party. While it cannot be read like the rest of the unused books, it can be returned to Shujin Library confirming it was meant to be a library book. This book is made available in Persona 5 Royal after Akechi joins the party. |
DVDs
Similar to the unused books, none of the unused DVDs can be watched. They cannot be returned to the DVD store either.
Hex ID | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
0A4 | Bonehead | Two episodes. A corpse holds hints to the truth. Sharp deductions saves all. |
0A5 | Crime Lab Squad | Three episodes. Cutting-edge forensic technology holds the key to a mystery. |
Gifts
None of the unused gift items can be given to female Confidants, regardless of relationship status.
Hex ID | Name | Description | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
0AE | Gee Shock | A brand name watch that is sold at a reasonable price. May make a nice gift. | This was likely meant to have been sold in one of the shops in the Underground Mall. |
0AD | Cheongsam | A cosplay dress that has a risque slit. May make a nice gift. | Judging from the description, this was likely meant to have been sold somewhere in Akihabara. |
0BA | Potted Succulents | A small flowerpot with various succulent plants. May make a nice gift. | This was likely meant to have been sold at the flower shop. |
Other
Hex ID | Name | Description | Price | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
08F | Junk | Just plain junk. No point in having it. | ¥10 | Has no use. |
090 | Money Distributor | Not Used | N/A | Can only be used during battle. Causes the user to throw away a random amount of yen and can be used an infinite amount of times. |
091 | Item Distributor | Not Used | N/A | Can only be used during battle. It should cause the user to throw away a random item, but instead it plays the "throw away item/money" animation and prints a nonsensical message such as "Threw me away!" without affecting any of the player's items. Like the aforementioned Money Distributor, it can be used infinitely, although using it too much will crash the game. |
096 | Movie 02 Ticket | Movie 02 Ticket | N/A | None of these have any use. It's possible that the movies were meant to have separate tickets at some point. In the final game, they all use the Movie Ticket item. |
097 | Movie 03 Ticket | Movie 03 Ticket | N/A | |
098 | Movie 04 Ticket | Movie 04 Ticket | N/A | |
0CC | Hawaiian Cookie | Staple Hawaiian souvenir. Restores 200 HP to an ally. | N/A | This was likely meant to have been obtained at some point during the trip to Hawaii. |
0CD | Taiyaki Caramel | From the Post-Festival party. Restores 100 SP to one ally. | N/A | Has the same properties of the post-festival food items. It was likely obtained if you didn't hang out with anyone during the post-festival celebrations, something that's impossible in-game as the player will always be able to hang out with at least Haru or Ryuji. |
0CF | Jewel Shard | A shard of a jewel. | ¥100 | Has no use. |
0E2 | Fulfiller | Just one bite satisfies your stomach. Cures hunger for one ally. | ¥40 | This was likely meant to be sold at the Drug Store, and goes unused as the hunger status ailment is used very little in-game. |
14F | Movie 16 Ticket | Movie 16 Ticket | N/A | Another useless unused movie ticket. |
Melee Weapons
Unless stated otherwise, the names and descriptions of these weapons are blanked out with RERSERVE in Persona 5 Royal.

A dagger that will enrage anyone slashed by it. |
10 | 95 | ¥20 | This weapon is similar to the Envy Chain and Prophet Hand weapons (low attack power but high accuracy and high chance of causing a status effect), and was likely intended to have been a Mementos quest reward. It might have been cut due to its similarities to the Frenzy Dagger, which has the same effect but lower accuracy and higher attack power. |

Accessories
Hex ID | Name | Description | Effect | Price | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
00A | Worn Rosary | Rosary beads that have seen a lot of prayers. | N/A | ¥560 | This item comes after Black Necktie internally. The price and lack of effect matches the party's starting accessories. Oddly enough, while a new party member was added in Persona 5 Royal, her unique accessory doesn't replace this spot (and is located far away from the rest of the thieve's accessories at 010F), and this item's name and description is replaced with RESERVE. |
028 | Secret Hood | Decreases enemy's line of sight. | Lowers enemy line of sight | ¥4000 | This accessory is overwritten by the Eccentric Belt in Persona 5 Royal. |
029 | Stone Cap | Increases enemy alert time. | Raises enemy alert time | ¥4000 | Like the Worn Rosary, this item's name and description was replaced with RESERVE in Royal and its effect removed. |
02A | Air Mino | Shortens time for alert formations. | Lowers enemy alert time | ¥4000 | Overwritten by the Magnetic Necktie in Persona 5 Royal. |
02B | Extra Mag 1 | Clip size +1. | +1 Clip | ¥4000 | Despite what the effect and descriptions imply, these don't increase the amount of bullets the equipped character can carry. All three of these items were overwritten by the PickMeUp Tie, Sturdy Suspenders and Strength Belt respectively in Royal. |
02C | Extra Mag 2 | Clip size +2. | +2 Clips | ¥4000 | |
02D | Extra Mag 3 | Clip size +3. | +3 Clips | ¥4000 | |
039 | Towser's Belt | Not Used | Resist Mouse | ¥600 | The existence of these two accessories seems to imply that the Rattled status ailment was meant to be more widespread then what it is in the final game. Equipping either of these items to any character will not prevent them from being Rattled either in battle or the overworld. Both of these items are blanked out in Royal. |
047 | Zero-Day Pass | Not Used | Null Mouse | ¥10000 | |
0C0 | Miyuki's Earring | Not Used | N/A | ¥20 | These can only be equipped by female party members. According to unused dialogue, these were meant to be sold in a shop called FAIRLADY, which doesn't exist in the final game, for 8000 yen each. Like most of the other accessories on this list, these were overwritten by Umi Sachihiko's Belt, Idaten's Belt and the Hall of Fame Belt in Royal. |
0C1 | Harumi's Earring | Not Used | N/A | ¥20 | |
0C2 | Marronnier's Earring | Not Used | N/A | ¥20 |

Costumes
An outfit that gives protagonist, Ryuji, Ann, Makoto and Haru the tracksuits they wear in several cutscenes exists within the game but goes unused. It was likely intended to have been a DLC costume set, possibly bundled with the Casual Clothes Costume Set. The description for this outfit reads "An athletic outfit for a Metaverse rebel." The individual outfit items can be found at 02F (protagonist), 030 (Ryuji), 032 (Ann), 034 (Makoto), 035 (Haru). These Tracksuits would later become available as a DLC costume set for Persona 5 Royal and were also made available for Yusuke, Futaba and Akechi.
Every character has costume "items" for all the costume DLCs in the game, even ones they cannot normally wear. The player technically obtains these when they redeem the respective DLC costume packs, but they are hard-coded to not appear in the Equip menu.

Skill Cards
Most of the unused Skill Cards are for enemy-exclusive skills or skills exclusive to certain Personas, and likely only exist for testing purposes.
Hex ID | Skill Name | Notes |
---|---|---|
03E | Famine's Breath | Enemy-exclusive skills. Both will always miss if used against enemies. |
03F | Famine's Scream | |
048 | Trapped Rat | Enemy-exclusive skill. Trapped Rat has no effect if used on an enemy. |
049 | Self-Destruct | These likely go unused as it's pointless giving the protagonist a skill that kills him instantly, as the protagonist dying is an instant game over. |
04A | ||
04B | ||
05C | Samsara | Daisoujou's exclusive skill. |
05E | Die for Me! | Alice's exclusive skill. |
061 | Black Viper | Satan's exclusive skill. |
