...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
Hmmm...
To do:
Pre-release differences from the various Trailers, Screenshots and Twitter videos.

Some models have been changed, compare them if possible.

Which Early Trailer had the old Boltmane design? Add a screenshot too.

Palworld is your typical eternally-stuck-in-early-access open-world survival crafting game, with Pokémon-like creatures. It garnered a quick reputation for being Pokémon but with guns for its depictions of said creatures wielding firearms and often depicted working in sweatshop-like conditions. It got into controversy for it's s̶t̶o̶l̶e̶n̶ ̶m̶o̶d̶e̶l̶ ̶p̶a̶r̶t̶s design similarities to many existing Pokémon, which ultimately served to propel it into becoming a viral hit early into 2024 (and later a lawsuit from the big N themselves, over gameplay patents of all things).

Unused Pals

Hmmm...
To do:
Any in-game stats/data defined before removal

These pals were unused and their models could be found in the files, until in update 2.0.6 when their models were removed from the files altogether [1].

Boltmane

A Luxray look-alike Pal that was featured in a early trailer with a yellow colour motif. In the earliest early-access versions Boltmane now has a Red Fire motif. To add to the comparisons it was mono-Electric Element before being scrpaped.

Dark Mutant

A Pal that resembles Mega Mewtwo Y. It may have been replaced with another Mega Mewtwo Y-like Pal, Lunaris, which is also internally called mutant. True to it's name it was of the Dark Element.

Dragostrophe

A Pal that looks like a fusion of Zekrom and Zoroark. It may have been replaced with another Zekrom-like Pal, Astegon. It was Dark and Dragon Elements.

Revisional Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
Upload a comparison video for the before and after.

On November 8, 2024, Nintendo filled a lawsuit claiming that Palworld was commiting patent infringement against a series of patents related to mechanics seen in the game Pokémon Legends Arceus, namely, the concept of catching creatures inside of balls in an open-world space to make them fight on a third-person perspective.

While the settlement for this lawsuit is to be determined, on December 9, 2024, an update was rolled out which removed the functionality of Pals spawning where their Pal Sphere landed but instead always next to the player, likely to conform to the patent restriction.
