Pajama Sam's SockWorks
Pajama Sam's SockWorks |
---|
Developer: Humongous Entertainment[1] This game has unused areas. |
In his first spinoff, Pajama Sam's SockWorks, Pajama Sam dreams up what every kid wants to do – sort socks. Because that's fun, right?
No?
Well, too bad, because that's the premise of this game that's very little more than a cut-and-pasted version of the Lost Luggage game from Let's Explore the Airport with Buzzy...though given how addictive that game was, most people really didn't mind.
Unused Subtitles
This game, like pretty much all the other Humongous games, has subtitles that are inaccessible unless you put
TextOn=1
in hegames.ini or scummvm.ini, or if you enable them with ScummVM's UI.
Bad Level
Should the game fail to load a level properly, you will be redirected to a room called "Bad Level" where it will tell you that your game disc might be dirty or scratched. This screen can be easily accessed by typing room 11 in ScummVM's debugger.

Sam | Uh oh, something's wrong! The Sock-O-Matic only sets itself up like this when it can't read its instructions from the CD. The CD might be dirty or even scratched. I think you better quit the game and try cleaning the CD. |
Level Viewer
This game does not include an in-house level editor (it would be pointless anyway as the built-in editor has every option there already), but it does allow you to view all of the levels in the game. To access this screen, type room 9 in ScummVM's debugger. One might think this would be redundant because there's an all levels cheat, but this game does not actually include only 100 levels; likely because the game was already half done when it was started, the developers decided to kick it up a notch by including 250 levels total with 100 randomly-selected ones every time. You can cycle through all the levels, though the level names don't erase so they are not visible and just pile up on each other.
It seems like this was somewhat like the in-house editor, as it does allow you to clear and name the levels, but they cannot be edited nor saved. There is also another set of arrows on the right but it is unknown what they do. The "STOP" button returns you to the menu.
Special Names
Inputting CHEATER-X as your name when you sign in grants the ability to go to any of the 250 levels in the game.
Unused Level
Due to a bug in the level randomization, one of the 250 levels will never be selected to appear in a normal file (and instead, another level has two chances of appearing). The only way to access this level is to use the "CHEATER-X" name for the file and playing level 69.
