Revisional Differences

Audio and Text Changes

On April 8, 2023, a patch was released that toned down language in some lines of the script. This is because the original release was only tagged as having "Mild Language" by the ESRB -- the changes were made to avoid having to resubmit the game for a new rating, which would cost time and money that Compile Heart and/or Idea Factory presumably didn't have. Some voiced lines had to be altered or re-recorded in order to accommodate for the revised script; the differences between the text are marked in bold whenever applicable. (Humorously, this also affected the name of a weapon that used a "swear word" in an innocuous context.)

The original Japanese script was left unaltered.

Nintendo Switch

Careful, you'll lose an eye.
This page or section needs more images.
There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.

The Nintendo Switch version added features and fixes from other ports:

  • The title screen features Purple Sister with a happy expression.
  • Heartfelt Photo Mode can now be selected without clearing the game.
  • Maho and Anri are playable characters at the beginning of Chapter 1. In addition, Shanghai Alice and Higurashi can be recruited without starting New Game+.
  • A transition to battle, in vain of the mainline games was implemented.
  • Victory poses after winning a battle have been added.
  • Nepgear's panty texture has pink stripes as opposed to being plain white.
  • Additional effects and speech bubbles have been included in Heartfelt Photo Mode.
