So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Hmmm...
To do:
Are there any unused sound effects?

Mighty Gunvolt is a bite-sized retraux 2D platformer created by Inti Creates to inject some brand synergy into their own franchises through a crossover between Mega Man-inspired characters such as Gunvolt (the hero from Azure Striker Gunvolt), Beck (the eponymous Mighty No. 9 protagonist), and... (checks notes) Ekoro, the non-playable character from the ecchi on-rails shooter Gal*Gun...? Okay.

Beck's looks appear to have gone through some more iteration than the other characters. Having two sets of sprites; both having a more saturated color palette (similar to the Mighty No. 9 Demo), one with a completely different face and another closer to the final design but with a run cycle that more closely resembles that of 8-bit Mega Man.

It also appears Beck's would have done a belly flop and then slide, this was likely replaced with the low dash. Interestingly, the idea of a character with the ability to slide on their belly would have been revisited for the DLC character "Tenzou" in the sequel.

Early pickup items

Early versions of the many pickup items in the game. Notably, 1-UPs appear to be represented as the character's head much like in the classic Mega Man games whereas in the final game all of them use the same generic "G" 1-UP, interestingly Gunvolt's head was re-used for the achievement/trophy related to maxing out on extra lives.

Also notable is the presence of the AcXel Boosts from the main Mighty No. 9 game.

Various elements appear to have been redrawn multiple times.

Early Highway trucks

The trucks from the DLC Highway stage were slightly different and even had animated wheel sprites. They appear to have been redrawn in order to look more "futuristic".

Stage Select placeholders

Placeholder sprites for the the level select thumbnails, the DLC stages are referred to as "EX".

Unused Music

GV_BGM_001_LP_32.dspadpcm (The Long Night Commences)

GV_BGM_002_LP_32.dspadpcm (The Tide Begins to Turn)

GV_BGM_003_LP_32.dspadpcm (Sprinting Through the Darkness)

In the 3DS version, three unused tracks exist. They are noticeable for being the only ".bcstm" streamable files but more importantly not being chiptune. They appear to be early versions of the songs, "The Long Night Commences", "The Tide Begins to Turn" and "Sprinting Through the Darkness" from Azure Striker Gunvolt.

To do:
Get a lossless screenshot of the PS Vita/PS4 version of the title screen

Released exclusively on PlayStation consoles only in Japan as a tie-in for the release of Gal*Gun: Double Peace. It's the exact same as the 3DS version save the changed name, the DLC is included and the screen layout has been reworked to into a single screen (namely, the character control explanation now act as decorative borders). The PC version is based on this version but retains the original name.
