Hmmm...
To do:
Document additional unused content from here.

Metal Slug Advance is the third handheld Metal Slug entry featuring a life bar and a unique collectible card system which gives weapon and player upgrades and opens up new areas within missions for extra replay value.

Unused Sprites

There's a lot of unused animations for the player characters, mostly the likes of reloading and idle animations that would have been used for flavor.

Hmmm...
To do:
Get more of them and document them.

MSA-Tyracrouch.gif MSA-Waltercrouch-1-.gif Alternate firing stances while crouching. This is excised from the game, thus limiting them with only one.

MSA-Tyramakeup-3-.gif An unused idle animation of Tyra checking her hair. This was reimplemented in Metal Slug Defense and Metal Slug Attack.

Unused Objects

A fair few remnants of the scrapped underwater areas remain, like the Slug Mariner, squids, floating mines, and perhaps more.

Hmmm...
To do:
Same thing, rip them and write about them

Squid

Another leftover from the underwater level, this time it's a squid from Metal Slug 5. It has all the animations, including exploding in a gory fashion.

Debug Mode Leftovers

There's a few textual remains of a debug mode, most of it nigh-identical to that of the arcade games, as well as the numerical listings of a stage select. Mission 3 has ten areas (only seven are seen in gameplay, including a cutscene) and Mission 4 has seven, meaning two areas aren't accessed.

Unused Text

In every version, at 0x797B0, is text for what looks to be a country selection, yet remains unused.

Regional Differences

The title screen in the Japanese version has the katakana text "メタルスラッグ アドバンス", which means "Metal Slug Advance".
