So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

The first game in the Jajamaru series to get a western release.

A re-translation, as well as a colorized Game Boy Color version, were released as part of Ninja Jajamaru: Retro Collection in 2023.

Hmmm...
To do:
More regional differences. Source
  • Compare the new translation, and the GBC port.

Misc.

  • The Romania stage has large crosses that were removed in the US version.
  • Exclusive to the US version are two sub-boss fights against a doppelganger of Maru. He is encountered in the second half of the USA stage and in the second half of the Japan stage.
  • Many sprites and portraits are different between the Japanese and US versions.

Revisional Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
There may be a Japanese GBC version.
  • The re-translation also has a monochrome version.
  • Check for any other changes.

The Great World Adventure DX

The DX version is Game Boy Color exclusive, enhancing the game to full color.

As expected, it has an additional screen when played on an original or Super Game Boy. (Owing to the DX version's origins as a fan-made ROM hack, it encourages fans to "support the official releases of this game", despite being an official release.) This remains unused in the Switch and PS4 releases, but it's possible to view on a cartridge copy.
