Debug Mode
An extensive debug mode can be activated with one of the below sets of Game Genie codes. Some features are enabled by default, while others are enabled by holding certain buttons at the title screen. Multiple buttons can be held to enable multiple functions at once.

Sound Test
Hold Select at the title screen and press Start. Controls:
Up/Down: Switch between music and sound effects.
Left/Right: Switch between tracks.
A: Play the selected track.
B: Stop the selected track.
Start: Return to the title screen.
Stage Select
Hold B at the title screen and press Start. The stage select will appear when starting a new game. Controls:
Up/Down: Increase/Decrease the stage number by 1.
Left/Right: Increase/Decrease the stage number by 10.
Start: Go to the selected stage.
Debug Stage
Choose stage 00 in the stage select.

Debug Display
Hold A at the title screen and press Start. The numbers in the top row represent, from left to right, Firebrand's X-position, Firebrand's Y-position, the screen's X-position, and the screen's Y-position. What the number on the bottom represents is unknown.
NOTE: This will cause the pause screen to appear glitchy in action stages.
Invulnerability
Hold Down at the title screen and press Start. Firebrand will now be invulnerable to all enemies and obstacles (such as spikes) in action stages.
Free-Movement Mode
Enabled by default. Either in action or overworld stages, hold A and press Select. Firebrand can now be moved around with the D-Pad. Hold A and press Select again to return to normal.
Debug Pause
Enabled by default. While paused in an action stage, the following functions will be available:
Select: Obtain all items.
A: Increase Firebrand's jump height ("J" in the HUD).
B: Increase Firebrand's stamina ("W" in the HUD).
